How Much Are These Turbos Worth To You???
SELLER'S DESCRIPTION:"I have for sale twin turbos off a 1999 JDM 13b twin turbo motor I had imported from japan for my rx7.. these are the ones everyone wants.. motor had 38K before I got it, and I went to a single t66 turbo on mine and now these are up for grabs... these sell near 2 grand new!!!... these have under 40K miles and are not cracked or any damage at all... shipping will be 25 dollars to anywhere in the cont USA, i will ship outside but buyer will cover all costs.. i do have more pics of the turbos but I will add them later today when i take them... these will not be DOA. no shaft play and spins free.. will make someone a excellent set of turbos for there rx-7 or there project car... these were always boosted at stock pressures.. 10 - 8 - 10psi"
Just curious as to how much you would pay for these and what would be the down fall of getting them?

The biggie is you need to make sure they're the 280hp twins. On the '99-02 cars, you could get either the 265hp version (with the same twins we have) or the 280hp with the upgraded twins. The year of the car doesn't tell you which version. A pic of the compressor housing so you can see the abradable seal is the real way to tell.

correct me if im wrong but these turbos dont make as much power up top as the stock twins are capable of. but they do spool a lot faster. my buddy has these in his car with a large streetport and its maxing out at 327 to the wheels but damn it spools up fast!

correct me if i'm wrong but those are the same as the ones we can get in US, if you're thinking those are 99/efini turbos/280hp version, they're not.
The ones that output 280hp should have turbocharger clamps holding the compressor housing to the cartridge instead of the c-clamp type

Heck, you can't even get a good set of US twins for $375. Most low mileage sets I've seen go for $500 - $700...

Seller: "these have a black abrasive coating on them and to my knowledge these were the only turbos that had them. per mazda. and they have n3g1 on them which to my knowledge is the best twins made by mazda."
To my knowledge doesn't n3g1 designate them as being the 280 hp.

Maybe turbos bought directly from Hitachi through importers are different from those sourced to Mazda and possibly still have the c-clamp? Just guessing. I was recently shown a car that had the '99s put in it and the builder pointed out the same c-clamp verses bracket thing in addition to the N3G1 stamp. Keep in mind that folks on eBay and here in the forums often post the wrong photo not realizing the differences even though they have the part being advertized.
