How much to go single

Here's my situation, I've been looking for a TT car. I've narrowed it down between the REX and a Sup. As of right now I'm leaning towards the REX. The Supra guys are asking way too much for there car's. Damn F&F movie. Anyway, I know it will cost around 12-15K to go single in a supra. How much will it cost to go single in the REX. I've heard of reliability problems with the REX, but I'm willing to work with it. Also what do I need to make the wankel less prone to detonation. I've always love the REX for it's looks, but the only thing that scares me is the realibility. Still searching for a Supra, but the REX is plan B for me.

good condition stock supra = 25g's
good condition stock rx7 = 15g's

single turbo conversion = 7g's-10g's (depends)

you can go ahead and do the math from here. i wish i had that kind of money too

supra motors are very durable also. rx7's arent known for their reliability but as long as you have the proper amount of fuel among other things you arent going to have that big of a problem. i'm no expert though.......you'll just have to wait for one of the guru's to post a reply

As long as you have your tuning at 100% then the rx7 will give you very little grief, and a lot of power.

It will cost you about $8000 to $12000. It all comes down to the parts you want to use. Here are a few website you can look at that will help you out. www.kdrotary.com, and RX-7 Store,

It also depends on the car you buy. If you buy a bone stock 7 you'll have WAY more to do than one that already has exhaust, IC, computer and such. With a bone stock 7 you'll have a good 8K+ in it with tuning and everything and if you have to rebuild the motor that will add another $3K-$4K.

If you know you want to go single I'd find a 7 that has a new motor, FMIC, full exhaust, stand alone computer and fuel upgrades. At that point all you need to do is throw on a single turbo and new downpipe then have it tuned.

That would be the cheapest route or to just buy a single turbo 7 that has a motor with good compression. You always save money by getting a car that someone else dumped the $$$ into.

7's are just picky about tuning, it HAS to be right!!!!

Later,

Where in Texas are you? If near Houston, you need to get a ride one of Marcus' single turbo conversions (it'll take awhiles to peel the smile off your face) - and its MUCH more affordable then you would think, as that his prices are VERY reasonable. You'll just have to wait a bit, as that he is contantly busy. www.turbostreetfighter.com

Is this a good deal for a T78 rx7, the only thing he didn't mention was a FMIC. Looks like He got the Power FC and Fuel well taken care off

Well I guess he has a Apexi Intercooler. I'm hoping it's a front mount. Don't see it in the picture
