How much is a 2002 Spirt R (type B) with 8,000 kms worth?
Hi,
I have always wanted an RX7 while growing up right from series one. Can finally afford it and they don't make them any more.
So I decided to hunt for a last of the last FD with the lowest K's possible, and found a grey Spirit R 2002 with only 8,000 kms on it.
The guy is asking a fair price - what is it worth?
I drove it today and let me just say that it is probably the most capable car I have driven in terms of point a to point b performance. Those turbos wind in so progressively too - nuts.
Please advise what you think it would be worth because I want to make an offer that is well below his asking, but I don't want it to be ridiculous either..
Regards,
P

You could also compare it to what they are selling for in Japan. If you go to www.japaneseusedcars.com and go to the top where it says system, then go down to estimes. from there you can search previous auctions to see what they have sold for and compare the prices to that. The FOB price includes all fees except for shipping. By going from that page they range from around 30K US-36K US. So turbro240 was fairly accurate with his estimate.

the type-a (low km, stock) now commands at least the same as the original asking price - around 4mil yen, in Japan. That equates to around A$50k-$55k (landed and complied) in oz. A B is the not-so-good brother - A$45k would be a reasonable offer (IMO).

I think that if you can get that car, assuming condition is good, for 45k then I think that you will have done very well. The american's are not taking into account compliance and import costs to australia

I'd think $40-45k USD is a good price for one...though I've never tried tp buy one, myself.

just out of interest man,
whats that red bar doin in the engine?
that bar is to the models up to 95...
and the spirit R badges are supposed to be next to the indicator towards the door instead on top of the indicator...
check it out.. and you can find cheaper ones from JP
