Our blue montego touring FD was purchased new in Houston, TX and it has been in the family and Texas since April of 1994. It used belong to my brother which admitted never took her near 6K rpm (almost choked to death when he told me that). Technically on paper, I own the car since July 04.
Car is bone stock with 51K...still smell new. Just bought a set of CCWs for it so I think I will be keeping it for a while. There will be no other mods.

I Bought Mine In June 1996 And Will Never Let It Go. It Sat In My Garage For Two Years While My Ex Got To Drive Her Mustang Because Our Baby Could Not Ride In My Car. My Other Car Is A 1999 Land Rover Discovery And I Could Not To Have All Three On The Road At The Same Time. Now I Am Divorced And Have Had The Car On The Road For The Last Two Years During The Spring And Summer.

RX-7's rule!
Bought mine brand new in Sep. 1994 when I was 19. So far at least 55k has gone into the car but it's money worth spent. My passion for this car turns into a real business. So my RX-7 feeds not only itself but me. Hence, RX-7's rule!

Thats really cool Chuck, I never knew you were the original owner of your car. To buy the car in 94 at 19 years old is pretty crazy, thats big money.

I dont think there is much of a point. I just read the whole thing and it is a very interesting thread. Especially the posts from the people who have owned it since new, its cool that they still have them. Also I like to read that other people plan to keep this car forever. For me I am sure there are better cars out there, probably even for the money. But this FD is my first real car that I paid for with my own money so it will always have that sentimental value, and I would love to see it sitting in my garage in 50 years or something.
