how to identify M2 ecu?

as i have recently read, m2 did away with their "stages" and i am about to buy an m2 ecu used from a forum member. how can i identify it as an m2 ecu without opening it up?

Since they are no longer in business, openning the box and cutting the sticker will not void any warranty that no longer exists. The chips should be labeled, I beleive. My upgraded ECU chips had stickers but it wasn't done by M2.

when I sold mine, I took the cover off and there were numbers clearly saying M2 and displaying the m2 reprogram software version on the chip.

The chips should have a white sticker on each. One reads "M2 Performance Firmware MM05" The other one is "M2 Performance Firmware MM16"
