how to get my car to growl like this one?

Hello guys
my current mods are intake, catback, and downpipe. rest of the car is stock
I love the tone of the exaust but i want it to sound more aggresive.

I love the highhorsepower 7s
and the way they growl. What goes into making the car sound really aggresive?
I can say for sure right now my car needs some new spark plugs, will this help the tone of my exhaust / engine sound?

http://videos.streetfire.net/Player....C-069349BD885A

i love the tone of this exhaust.. is this mainly due to the porting / exhaust matchup or is there more that goes into the sounding of an engine like the one linked above?

Thats Rich's car! Beautiful FD! Sounds liek a street port with BNR's but then again, it could be stock port! I'm not sure I'm sure he will read this thread and answer your question

nice car! well done on the mods. wish the video would loose the music so we can here more of the car. I think dp, hf cat and exhaust should get you to the sound level you want.

^ well I know after installing my bonez HF cat my car got a lot deeper growl like the one in the video. at idle my exhaust note is mean. but yes the res mid pipe would be more agressive but will not pass smog and he will need a pfc to support it.

i just noticed that his motor dosent move at all during the runs. Does he have poly motor mounts or solid? My engine jumps all over the place when doing a pull on the dyno. Scared me the first time i saws it.

I had a high flow cat and hated it, it was to loud with a ricey sound to it. He said that he wanted his car to sound like that one in the vid. I actually have rich's old rx7store magnaflow res midpipe from that run, it's on my car. He sold it to get the 4 inch magnaflow exhaust. Your car may sound great, but from my experience I was MUCH happier with the res mid. It sounds so much smoother, better, and seems to rev faster. If I were him, I would save up for pfc, injectors, res midpipe, and tune all at once. It gets to expensive to buy and sell/upgrade parts, it's much better to do it right the first time. A lesson I finally learned.

^ agreed, save up, do it right the first time, i would ditch the air pump and get an SMB metallic cat + res, but even before that get a new ECU and maybe even a nice boost controller before you boost creep your car to death

He's probably using Gotham Racing's poly mounts.

Hey thanks alot on your input. I am definatley going to save up for a PFC before i put anything in place of the stock cat converter.

In terms of the midpipe that you had suggested, is it really necesary to upgrade the injectors with running on stock turbos? im just curious as to why you suggest new injectors too?

I would like to get a manual boost controller that i can just set "under" the hood and not touch it after that? how much do these installations cost and is it feesable to put such a system on the stock system?

I thought you were a newbe,by the ? you are asking, but you've been on here since 2003. I'm sure you have a shop, call and ask. there's plenty info on here about manual boost controllers. You can do it yourself, it's not that hard. Yes it's feesable, lots of people are running manual boost controllers on stock twins.

You don't need injectors unless you turn up the boost, but the difference u will feel is worth the money to get some injectors put in. Just get some used 850 sec injectors, n get tuned for 12-14. First just get the power fc, plug it in and go from there. This is kinda a crappy reply cuz im home from school trying to type on an iPhone
