How to fix tail light oxidation?
I've searched but nothing came up. Anyone have this oxidation (fading) on the top part of their tail light? It's not as black as the rest of the plastic housing.
Anyone know of a fix for this?
Thanks ahead of time!

If you mean the surface is no longer smooth and clear and therefore not showing the black underneath well...
then a little fine cut or medium cut car polish will do the trick. Just press lightly and don't rub on the body paint. As long as you rub lightly enough to not get warm under the rag, it should clean that plastic really well. Also works on glass like headlights.

I basically use a Plastic Wax that I bought from Pepboys. Just put it on, let it haze, then wipe it off with a rag. Ive been doing it every now and then over 4 years, and have no oxidation or tint on the rear lights. I also have the dp-mp-cb...

Sand them down with 1000-1200grit sandpaper and buff them out with a fine polishing compound. They will look awesome. Since plastic is soft it is easier to polish out than paint. If your really serious about making them look good you might try multiple stages of polish.
Edit: Remove them from the car before trying to sand them down.

Yeah, I tried the plastic polish from Meguiar's with no luck. I tried using a fine sand paper before but the scratches didn't come out very well. What kind of polishing compound should I use?
My surface is smooth and clear however you can notice a difference between how "black" the top part looks compared to where the light housing black is.
I'll try the car polish trick. If that doesn't work, I'll try the sandpaper again with a polishing compound.
thanks!
