Plus when I was waxing it I actually even cracked a little spot on the paint because of how flimsy the hood is...even with a bunch of extra support I had installed. The moral of the story is...you get what you pay for. Replicas look decent but they don't compare to the original's, especially with the mazdaspeed. You have to decide how **** you are about perfection.

Replica kits have NOTHING to do with how much money a shop makes, or if their shop is doing well or any financial aspect at all. To bottom line the conversation it is about morals/ethics. If you believe it is ok to copy someone's design, and then sell it and make a profit, then obviously it's ok to replicate something. The Napster point also follows this thread well. Some people feel it's ok to "share" a song. With myself the Jury is still out on this one. I personally would hate to design a fiberglass piece, spend countless hours on the shape/fitment/look etc. and then see it being sold by someone across the ocean for less, who did none of the actual work. I'm sorry but taking my bumper and making a mold to copy it is NOT r&d. Why even bother going to all of the trouble of making your own design??? It doesn't matter if I'm rich or poor, it's bad business to create something that others will profit on, instead of myself. If you like the way a kit looks, then cool. If you think it's ok to contribute to the stealing of someone else's property rights, then thats up to the individual. Many people don't realize that the Japanese Tuners aren't charging that high of retail pricing here in the U.S. After all it's the distributors that are setting the pricing here. Let's not kid ourselves into who feels sorry for who, and who makes xxx amount of $$$. Lets be real with this discussion, do any of you feel that bodykits, are an artisitic representation? Do they fall into intellectual Property rights? IF SO, is it alright to infringe upon these rights? Why or why not? These are the questions that need discussion, not Amemiya's bottom line from last year.
