putting the pedal down increases the air that's allowed into the engine too (wont' be as rich and easier for it to turn over giv'n higher compression due to increased rpm).

When i start my FC i alwasy press the pedal.

How do you tell if 3rd gen has intermittant leaking injectors, like I suspect? And how hard are they to replace?

Smile IT WORKS!!!! IT WORKS

Well, all I can say is that the pedal to the floor worked for me. I have a 1991 Convertible(the snail, I know) and I've had continual electrical problems. The car had sat for about 2 weeks before I found a guy who rebuilds electrical components( Switches, CPU,etc). I had all kinds of crazy quirks in the car(interior CPU = dash problems, horn problems, brake light etc)and this rewired CPU worked great, only somehow in the 5 weeks the car sat it wouldn't start. It had always been reliable, until now.

I knew I floodedit when I smelled the gas...

... so I looked at some threads, and I found out how much of a problem it is to unflood a rotory.
The way I figure, Before I get my knuckles busted up and greasy, I'd try the pedal to the metal method. Worth a shot right? (and beside I just put a new battery, plugs, and wires in 3 months ago).

WELL, IT WORKED GREAT. granted my 7 is in great shape, adult driven and never dogged out, and at just 100,000 mi. , but I had great success with this method.

also, change you plugs when putting it back together. hell 2 of them are already out.

how they were telling you to hold the pedal to the floor... that will aslo cut fuel from being injected. (holding pedal to floor)
I gotta agree w/ this one. When my car FINALLY came outta the shop (a good 4 months later), the guy flooded it when he tried to start it. Good thing PFS is like 30 seconds away...ran over, and they recommended exactly what rxrotary2_7 said.

Pull the bottom plugs out, pull the egi fuse, crank it over 3 times for 15 seconds each, then put new plugs back in, and crank it. sure enough, she started right up (with LOTS of smoke might I add).

Only thing I wanted to mention while using this method is, MAKE SURE you secure the spark plug wires and anything else loose in the area that can catch fire, cuz when you're cranking it, she spits fuel all over the place, and can easily ignite a spark (yes, even w/ the bottom plugs out. I had my friend hold an extinguisher right above it while I did it, just in case! lol)

Unplug the ignition wires and it will not catch fire. I just unplug my HKS twin power harness when I need to unflood my car. I had a problem with my secondaries and fuel was leaking out around both my midpipe connections. I used about 1/4 tank and never left the driveway...
