I think the engine is flooded (cranks put won't turn on). I read the procedure for un-flooding the engine but seeing as how my mechanic does all the work on my car, I'm running into trouble trying to do this job myself. If anyone has pictures or can give me a good description of how to get to the spark plugs to remove them it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Outkast, you have to remove your intake elbow (piping that connects to your TB and I/C). Once you do that, your plugs should be right below the elbow. The leading are the set on the bottom, while the trailing are the 2 above.

i just changed my spark plugs tonight. it isnt necessary to remove the elbow. the rear ones are easy, but the fronts are a real pain in the ***!!!

i retract my previous statement then Its not necessary, but it makes things easier (doesnt help that im a lardass with stubby arms and fingers, hehe)

I heard if you go at it from top u need to remove the elbow and what not, if you go throught the bottom then you remove nothing.

going formt he bottom is a million times easier, jsut jack up the car, and look up, there they are.

Thanks for all the responses. I just came back in the house. It's a mission to get to those spark plugs! I thought I was done once I removed the intake elbow...but there's another piece to remove before I can get to the spark plugs. I just quit for now and I'll start again tomorrow.

Yeah its easer to do it from the bottom
Or u can get a real small ratchet and do it from the top

Just want to make sure that you know what to do once the plugs are out. First you must remove the fuel relay. W/ the plugs out, turn the engine over for 20-30 seconds 2 or 3 times. Replace the plugs and relay and give it a whirl. If it won't start after the first try, put a tad of atf in each housing, turn over a few times, replace the plugs and then turn the fuel back on. If you use the atf it will smoke like hell for a few minutes but will not harm any thing and will help it seal to create compression.... Flooding is a tell tale sign of an older engine so imho you should have a compression test done to see where you should set your levels to keep it running.
