Autotrader..the car was in Atlanta I was in Ohio so I got a plane ticket both ways just in case, saw it and I bought it.
The funny thing was his wife showed me the car and before we drove off we were waiting for two minutes before the test drive "for the engine to warm up" that sealed the deal.

I thought to myself I have found MY stock unmolested FD.
That was 20k and one motor away.DOH!
No regrets tho.

A friend of mine works at a dealership, and called me the day it was traded in. At first I didn't even consider it seriously; I wasn't interested in something so impractical. A week or two later, I stopped by because I wanted to drive it (I had been a rotary enthusiast since auto shop class in high school). After the test drive, I had to own it, these cars are just that good. The dealmaker was that the interior actually fits me, the seats aren't too big like in most other cars I've driven.

I always wonder what the previous owner traded it for, it was a Toyota dealership.

Saw it first on Ebay, contacted the dealer and drove there next day to inspect the car, bought it on the spot after test drive. On my way home, right before enter the town, a cop followed me for about 30 mins try to check out the new ride from behind, side and front view. I think he is trying to figure out what car was I driving ^_^

The Car was completely stock, I'm second owner and it had 55,000 miles. First owner was a doctor and it was his weekend car so everything is working flawlessly and unabused. Very lucky to find it and love every second of driving experience!!

I'd been lookin for a FD for about 6 months to a year. Turns out that a buddy of mines lived across the street from a guy that had an FD that just sat there. I waited for about 3 - 5 months before I just walked over and put a note on the car asking if he wanted to sell it. I've had the car for a year and 2 weeks. Currently being rebuilt!!

Visited Autotrader, Cars.com, a relative at a dealership (had them looking through dealership inventories and auctions), carmax, carsdirect.com, Texas Toy Store, Ebay, etc...you name it. Grabbed a pen, paper, and phone, went down the list, had them all crossed out within 40 minutes, minus one. It was on Ebay. Won the auction, drove down to Miami a few days later, inspected the car, had it checked out at a shop, droped him a certified check, and drove her home

EDIT: Oh I had no idea about the forum at the time, but I did come across the "Used 3rd Gen Buyer's Guide"

I was at my mechanic's shop getting a CYM checked out whose owner had driven 3 hours to make the sale upon good inspection. We couldn't come to terms on price (he walked for $500), but that day I saw a beautiful MB with wheels at his shop. MB was the color I said that I wouldn't buy, but this car was amazing. My mechanic said that the guy was looking to sell the car, but that he would likely want over $20k (more than I had). I ended up talking to the owner and came to terms about a month later!

Other: I spent over 6 months searching autotrader/cars.com and want adds. I finally found one that was in the right condition (perfect body) for the right price from a friend (Marco, owner of magnus) up in Canada. Then spent another 6 months trying to get the check to clear in canada and import it.

oh and here is one of the first pics i saw of the car before i got it. (headlights were in the process of being fitted with front forward, but i opted for the popups)

First (black 93 touring) one was from the news paper. Second was from what was classifieds2000.com (silver 94).

The first one was black. I was about to get it painted that JDM blue color, but I saw the silver one in the paper. It had a black interior and was only 3 G's more than what I knew I could sell the black one for. I wanted a silver one from the beggining, so I went for it.
