Yeah you could sell these kits for $100 just like the ground strap kits on the rx7store. LOL..... I would say if you could neck the release of the air collected up to the top of the engine compartment near the hood it would further pressurize the compartment, and more air would flow past the turbos releasing the heat. Of course there wouldn't be a noticable change, but every little bit helps. Good luck with your testing, and let us know what the pyro meter reads with and without the mod. I'm about the same way. I look for the cheep mods and duct tape. LOL.... People kind of laugh sometimes at the track, but they change their tune when they see my taillights.

Yep, the green area is where you make the foil lined duct. You need to cut the hole in the interior side of the frame by putting your hole saw inside the exterior square to cut. BE VERY CAREFULL not to let the saw blade nick anything on the inside or you'll be paying big bucks to fix it......... The red area is where you cut the oval in the plastic duct to attach your 4" dryer hose.

Ahhh.... the vents are custom made....$100 a piece....
jk, they're off an old car (you have to guess, should be easy)
@ your local junk yard. (talk about ghetto mods)
But I don't have $700 to blow on a vented hood.
Still have to do blocking plates for it though.
My car never overheated, but I've replace my stock rad when I bought the car and change coolant every year....
We'll see when I take it to the track.
I've been hesitant cuz its my daily driver.

If I could only find a couple of small NACA ducts that would fit the curvature of the hood in that same place perfectly, I just might take a roto zip to it. HMMMMmmmmmmmmm....time for a search.

Having a body shop make some louvers or doing them yourself where those hood vents are would look cool too. Of course it wouldn't be cheap anymore if you had the body shop do it. Those vents do look pretty cool though.
Those inside the fender vents are a good idea. So, you've had no issues with them since you put them in?
Nothing like the paint getting messed up or the duct warping?

Every day I drive and look at my twin rotor head temperature gauges (with sensors at the base of the leading plugs) at 190 to 200F I just sit back and RELAX...

Anybody try this with the stock plastic grids and see if they really melt?
Those dummy vents have struck me as one of the few non-functional parts of a car that breathes aero functionality otherwise.
Nobody answered the novice question of how much work it is to remove and then perfectly re-allign the re-installed fenders.... curious.

Darn. I had to have the engine replaced and forgot about this mod when the compartment was all accessable. Other than pulling the fenders.
