Okay, I'm trying to solve the hose problem on my FD.. doing complete hose job.

So, it seems like there's different companies who offer vaccium hoses, what's the best one for my car?
I think there's raliant, Goodwrench, and... some other one. I think one of them is only 3.75 mm instead of 4mm, does that make a huge difference?

If anyone can enlighten me, that'd be great!

Arospeed hoses are pretty good. They have thick sidewalls to prevent kinking.

Stick with a brand that most people use. They may be expensive, but I don't think that you want to redo your hoses again. I used hosetechniques, but other companies like Baker are good from what I hear. Do a search for the topic.

well, I'm doing better then a search on the topic, I'm RAISING the topic!

But really, I needn't to order them myself, I need to tell the guy at the shop wich ones to get for me.

I mean, most of you guys HAVE done the hose job, so I'm simply asking for everyone's input on what they used/was it good/what they've heard was the best.

I just never heard of hosetechniques before... but hey if they're good it's fine by me.
Just wanted to know if the price is right... I don,t mind paying high prices, I just like if it's worth what I pay.

I used Hose Techniques. They'll sell you 3.5mm hose for most of the engine, and it fits really nice. I think it was worth the money. You should really do a search on this topic, because it come up about every week, and each time everyone says the same things...

And bakers have 2 kinds of blue hoses, the fluorescent ones are twice the price of the regular blue, what's up with that too?

Once you add up all the hose you need from the Baker site to equal what comes in the kit direct from Hose Tech, the kit is only $2 more and includes ties. Look at the URL for Baker "http://www.bakerprecision.com/hosetech.htm
". Notice it says /hosetech, short for Hose Techniques. Looks like they buy there hose from Hose Techniques. The kit sounds like a better deal.

On a side note, has anyone ever thought of using urethane hoses like the ones used as fuel lines on chainsaws, weed wackers, lawn mowers, and etc. You can buy the stuff for a lot less at Home Depot. I have no idea how durable it would be and how resistant they are to expansion and contraction. It definately feels stiffer.

i bought the kit, its definetly "complete". plenty of hoses, all the sizes needed, plenty of ties, cutting tool, couple of stickers even.

i was told that the only real downfall of the silicon were the fact that they tear easy. i was told that the goodyear rubber hoses are more than good enough. i dont mind going to silicon, but if they are installed right, i shouldnt have any problems with them tearing correct. i dont think that the silicon is bad, but like this was stated, i would rather OVER kill with the VITON hoses than not have enough

Goodyears are B/Oed all over the country and expensive as hell... that sucks.

Anyways the guy ordered the hoses for me, still dunno what brand I guess he didn't wait for me to tell him what brand I want...

So, I'll wait to see what he ordered, since it's already in transit, and if that doesn't do, I'll ask for Bakers I guess since they use HosesTechniques and are cheaper, from what I hear

I used hose from Baker Precision. Very thick and kink resistant, colors available. I did NOT zip tie the hoses; this stuff hangs on tight. Been a few months now and absolutely no signs of the hoses slipping off; even when my new catback was spiking to 15 psi

It is great stuff and affordable. Get some 2.75" turbo hose while you're there for your turbo couplers.
