![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have a 94 Touring with the stock Bose system.
OK I listened to my radio yesterday on the way home from the airport and everything was fine. I turn the car on today and as soon as the car comes on the stereo emits this loud hornlike sound (like a basketball horn) and I immediately hit stop on the CD player. This stops the sound and thinking that it may just be the CD player I hit the power button for the radio and it emits the exact same sound. It seems to be coming from just one speaker but I can't tell because it is so defening. I don't know what to check first, the speaker for a short or the head unit. I never realized how horrible it is to drive to work in the rain without the radio. Somebody help me out please.

The stereo system is all stock Bose crap. It is that no replacement for any component unless it is either second hand (probably well used at this point) or $600 from the dealer. I am going to pull the passenger side speaker out tomorrow and see if that eliminates the unbearable howl and go from there. (I think that it may be a short in that speaker due to the fact that the majority of the sound is coming from that speaker) If that doesn't solve the problem I guess that only leaves the driver side speaker and the headunit. I don't understand how it could just start overnight like it did but I guess that is my luck. Thanks for all the suggestions and helpful tidbits but the laughter is a bit annoying...j/k I have to learn to take my problems less seriously.

SpeedracerRX7,
It's possible that one of the amps could be causing the problem. I think removing speakers until it stops is a good way to start.
If you find the offending part, talk to this place:

They can probably repair it for you. I've heard good things about them.

Well I found the source of the problem. It was my passenger side Bose unit. I removed it and everything seems fine. I haven't looked into what was causing it specifically, but does anybody feel that I can fix this unit. I am assuming that it is a short somewhere but I am not sure. I can soldier and wire pretty well but if there are any circuit boards in there that is where my expertise falls a bit short. Let me know what you all think. Thanks!
