I currently have all teh parts Ill need asside from teh intake. I'm going to make one from aluminum. the only thing holding me back right now is time.

I've ordered some aluminum sheet from mcmaster-carr for a different project. I got .062" 5052 as I have a number of 90 degree bends. I may use a thinner gage for the duct.
There sure isn't much space for the duct to pass above the radiator...

This is how I did it when I installed my radiator:
Remove battery tray
Remove IC
Unbolt the A/C condenser unit
At this point you should be able to loosen the duct, you have to play with it, bend the condenser and the lines a little to get the duct out.

I've been slacking. I may be getting a new radiator, so this will impact fitmant...
Since SR discontinued these, maybe they'd send us some installation instructions for their kit.

I suppose with the v-mount you eliminate the belly pan. I think this is a bigger project than I am after. I'd also think you want an IC the same width as the radiator. The SR HMIC is narrower.
It looks like you effectively split the air between the IC and the radiator. I think you could spend a long time determining air flow characteristics with this configuration. I can control the amount of air the IC gets with ducting, and it's more similar to stock.
That being said, I think the v-mount is a good idea. Isn't this configuration fairly common in Japan?

has exchanged emails with me regarding his HMIC Rotary Extreme. The IC kits are done, but the inlet ducts are not...
Chuck says the V-mounts IC/2-inch think Comp Rad are complete and available; the V-mount design is used on track in Japan FD race cars.

Chuck's stuff looks serious and custom-made...
I'm anxious for them to get the inlet duct done for the HMIC...I'm sure I will order the RE HMIC, as it can be used with the Efini Y-pipe, and just about any intake.
Chuck says the HMIC's couplers will not pop off like they do with the M2 Large IC's because Chuck's HMIC is rigidly mounted via a bracket. There apparently is no movement once the HMIC is in place. Without the movement, the silicone couplings will not work themselves loose like they do on the M2's couplings.
From what I've seen, the M2 is not rigidly mounted. It's held in place with the 4 silicone couplings. With the motor moving around under throttle, it's easy to see why the M2 Large IC couplings are constantly DECOUPLING, and causing boost leaks out on the road race circuits!!!
Rotary Extreme has their own CAI in the works, and I might consider that one as a nice complement to Chuck's HMIC...?

johnchabin ... Yes i see alot of V-mounts ... but i guess its just how you plan on driving your car.... Will you be running your car hard enough for the radiator to be a big factor, or will you be on the straight away track where you need the air for the intercooler ? its all in what you are going to do ..... i guess.
