High Idle: need some help chasing this down

So I had my engine rebuilt last month. We re-installed the other week. The car is idling at 1800-2000. Very steady, no surging or anything. I did the rats next during the rebuild. OMP has been eliminated, running pre-mix. I have driven the car maybe 10 miles. Really no boost to this point, RPMs below 4000 or so. No driveability issues so far but its all relative, I haven't asked her to do too much yet.

I checked both the throttle and cruise cables. No binding or any issues I can see. I think the chances are very high I have a vacuum leak or I missed something when we put it all back together.

We left one of the sets of hardlines that are in the rats nest rack open. They appeared to be connected and related to the OMP so they are not capped.

Picture, Verticle opening in the foreground, right behind it and to the left the horizontal opening. I believe it goes to the back of the rack.

I haven't sourced a copy of the PFC manual yet to decipher all of the sensor codes.

Picture of the PFC controller, key on, engine off.

Picture of the PFC controller, key on, engine on.

Thanks for any help. Still learning my way around these cars so be gentle.

Judging by your narrow range TPS voltage (VTA2) in the engine on, warm condition your throttle is propped open--if the sensor is set correctly, it should be 1 volt or less in a warm idle condition. Did you eliminate the coolant hose from the throttlebody but retain the thermowax? That will do it.

Yes, forgot about that detail, coolant hose and such to the TB is gone, plugged on the block. What is the thermowax you are referencing? New term to me. Does it need to be re-adjusted or removed since I have eliminated the coolant line?

Thanks

If you bypassed the thermowax it will default to cold start high idle. Reconnect the coolant lines or modify the throttle body correctly

Thanks for the replies. I pulled the thermowax today. Idles right at 8-900 once it's warmed up. Drove it around for 30 mins or so with no issues. I did not tie down the cam or do anything else to the TB at this point.

I wish I could fast forward past this break-in period.
