Hahaha, rotobrain, did you used to work at an airport or something?!!...lol I used work at the airport here and that's what we called ANYTHING on the runway because of the jet engines. I didn't know "Foreign Object Damage" was used in any other industries...lol

If your goal is to just keep the boost low don't bother with a manual control. Just plug the vac line coming off the actuator and you'll max at 7psi.

I'm not trying to cause any problems but you might want to check that shipping before deciding the price. The last set I sent via UPS was right at $50. If you pull them off the turbo manifold it pretty much cuts that in half but you chance stripping bolt ect ect

Anyway, just thought I'd let you guys know that

LMAO - I agree 100%...you never know when that McDonald's milkshake could get sucked into someone's intake :P

BTW - good luck with the engine guy, I hope the T-Shirt didn't get sucked into it. By the sounds of it it's in the intercooler? I hope it just takes some hard work to get it out and not a rebuild or something. Glad to see everyone was able to help you out a bit though

found a large piece of t-shirt logged in the rear turbo, was able to remove...the rear turbo seems to have one clipped fin

the front fins are mangled

here's the pics

shot of front turbo

another shot of front turbo

rear turbo

piece found in rear turbo

is this normal (the oil) or is the seal shot?

i would definatly get a frame for the shirt. will make for a great conversation piece by hanging on the wall of your garage.

P.S. > Just joking, just last week I tried to use a maxipad for a cat and it blew right out my tailpipe, causing horrible, horrible accidents lol.

Zoiks! Those things are paperweights! I wouldn't worry about the oil seal, but it looks like it seeping a tad, doesn't look bad though.

93BlackFD - glad you were able to figure it out. Good luck with the the turbos. Don't you think it would be cheaper/easier to flush it? What about that guy's idea about flushing it with a radiator flush?

yeah, is a good idea....but I see stock IC's go for next to nothing, it'd just be easier on me if someone wanted to clean out their garage and would offer one for shipping

they're not worth anything, we all know that

looks like i'll be going with the non-seq stage2 BNR's

it's the only thing i can think of that will make me feel better about this entire project

Yeah I guess you're right if you can find one cheap (intercooler) As for the BNR's, that's awesome...although I can just imagine how it must be for you went it's hard to afford things I'd love something similar, but I'm in the same boat at the moment

actually i'm going to bolt on james' twins and just pray for the next 6 months, as for the intercooler

i'm going to go with the greddy FMIC that's on sale right now, i'm just too afraid to put mine back in the loop

is there a how-to for the install?

It's a pain in the ***, or so I've been told.

Is your car all stock otherwise? Depending on what mods you've got, you might want to look into engine management along with the IC.....

Poor man's solution: Pull the turbos, send them to BNR, put them back on, never tell anyone when you sell it.

Less poor man's solution: tear the engine down.

ummm.... wow.
Note to self: Do not buy a car from spurvo....

93BlackFD - I have a stock IC I'd be willing to donate to the project if you are still going the poor man's path. It is not as gracious an offer as stock turbo's but we all cant be as cool as james (way to go james!). Those pics you posted look scary...lots of metal missing from those blades. How far did you drive it after it got sucked in? If it wasnt far I would consider trying to save the engine, but if it was far then I cant see how all that metal made it through your engine without hurting it.

To the community - Great job guys not kicking this guy when he was down (with only a few exceptions). There may be hope for this forum yet!

I've been following this story since it happen and it's great to see the rotor community help (donate parts, hey I've got a stock cigarette lighter if needed) this guy out.

93blackfd - Hope you get your car up and running again, I bet you've learned alot about your car, since this happen.

It's great to know this community is so helpful when things go really wrong!

Hey man I have a stock IC you can have for shipping only, that is if you havent picked one up yet. I have no use for it anymore and could use the space so let me know if you still need one. No cracks and overall in excellent shape...
