Help on starting troubleshoot

im wanting to purchase this rx7 it has 46k miles on it.... but that owner said that the car has been sitting for a little over a year. He thinks that the rear apex seal is flooding the engine the engine trys to turns over (he said you can hear it still has compressin) also the plastic/rubber tubing from the intercooler to the intake manifold piping is missing (he was moving and misplaced it) he thinks that is also a reason or the spark plugs could be fouled out any help please ASAP !!!!!!! thank you

Sounds a bit iffy... If you can score the car cheap enough to justify a rebuild if its shot just buy it and worry about it later, if he wants a pretty penny for it make sure it runs before you jump into it. I'd say check the plugs and you might want to dump some ATF into it as the Apex seals may have stuck from carbon deposits.

I suggest you post in the NorthEast section and find a local who can help check it out. If the car isn't far from me in PA I'll go look.

The missing coupler is not a big deal, but the apex seals (which btw can't cause flooding) or bad compression basically mean rebuild. Get a price from a local dealer to drop in a reman engine, then take that price and subtract it from what you think it should cost if the engine was good (blue book for example). Then if you buy it, get the engine rebuilt somewhere cheaper and more competent than the Mazda dealer.

Wow, that's a good price, even with a blown motor. Smart shopping can get you running for under $4k in parts.
