looks good, but if I were you, I'd start studying up on the turbo rotary before buying one. this ain't no 8, it's a completely different monster..in a good way but if you're expecting to maintain this car like you did the 8, you're in for a shock. read the stickies at the top of this forum.
contrary to what ero said, I think $18k is a fine price for that car.

^^i agree the 18k is right for that car. personally i think 18k is right for just about any fd in good condtion. the only way the price is going to rise for these cars is if we make it rise! nice car though. research before you buy. good luck

The car is being sold through a dealership so the price is going to be on the high side. You could always try and get them to go down on the price. I feel more comfortable buying from a private party. I would suggest doing your research on these cars. If the FD is what you really want, find one in good condition with a good running motor. If I was spending 18k on a 12 year old car, I would make sure I got my moneys worth.

$18 thousad is way too high... I researched a LOT about rx-7's... Learned HELLA LOT.... Found out how to take care of it right and all that stuff so engine will not blow. And now i'm ready to buy an RX-7. A couple of weeks ago, I came across a GREAT deal. I live in Sacramento, CA and this guy, who I found over the internet was selling a 93 mazda rx-7 R1 for only $16,000. He just put in a new engine which had only 2,000 miles on it. He changed out the clutch, and the transmission. So basically... The engine, clutch, and tranny all had only 2,000 miles on it. And he was selling it for ONLY $16,000.
And it turned out that the man selling the car was living in the same Natomas are where I live (like 5 blocks away) And the day I was gonna go buy this car, Some guy bought it the day before me. For only 15,500. !!!!! Heka lucky!! It was a really crappy day for me tho because he needed the money fast and he ended up selling it to the other guy and not me.
So Basically... What i'm saying is that you should look around a LOT. And eventually you will find a good deal. I just recently a couple of days ago found a mazda RX-7 that also has a rebuilt engine with only 1,000 miles on it and the man is selling it for hecka cheap. And he also lives in Sacramento. So I'm gonna go check it out!! Good luck finding a good deal!! Bye.

18 is way too much. I bought mine 2 years ago with 63K original motor for 14K. Running great till the shop i took it to popped my motor. then it became a money pit going single.

i spent $18k on my '93 Touring with a brand new motor and rebuilt turbos (less then 5k miles before i bought the car) with 63k miles on the chassis. $18k for a practically bone stock base FD that's gonna need a rebuilt motor soon is not worth it. i see where you're coming from, Willub, but you can buy a much better option for that price. if you like that look, i have a freind who is contemplating selling his '93 Montego Blue with Tan Interior Touring FD with a little over 20,000 factory miles for under $20k. it's practically bone stock and boosts well. the only down fall is that it's in Massachusetts, but it's well worth the shipping. i can still smell the dead cow in the leather. PM me if you want more details or pictures.
well, with that said, the FD from Cars.com is not worth $18k.

If it was a 93, I would say the price was alittle high. But a nice 94 or 95 should go for about that. If I were you I'd get a 94, over all everything is just alittle better. Interior, some suspention stuff, the renforced rims, window switch, ect...
After owning 4 FD's 3 94's and one 93, I'll never buy another 93 unless it is a CYM.
When I was looking for my 3rd FD I was ready to pay 16-18k for a nice 94. I got a deal on a 94 with 90k miles on it for $10,000 but it needed a rebuild, heater core, window switch, and some other little things.
Hope that helps.

new motor or forget it
18k with 98K. If it is the original motor (Then about 0-? miles you'll spend 4K for an new motor after the existing blows) or its a rebuild and still (0-? miles). Either way your going to eventually spend money. Were talking RX-7 baby....

Word of Caution: 3rd generation RX7s are like magnet to young male adults...those smart dealer salemen knows that...they can sense you wanting it...badly.
IMO $16K for a 93K miles 12 yrs old 1994 RX7 is too much...UNLESS its history is clear.
Let's said you paid 16K
3 mths later the motor blow
automatically + 5K for new motor
= $21K
Just like that.
If you are seriously considering this car...take it to a reputable rotary shop for a thorough check up. $500 now could saved thousands later.
Good luck.
It was 70* F here in Dallas...took the 7 out...and...
LOVE IT!

Hmmm, it looks like a 94 black interior, but why does it have a silver 93 intake elbow. If the car still has the original engine, then it's looking at a rebuild pretty soon. I wouldn't pay 18k for it. BTW, compression check and carfax report should cost you a $100 or less.

unless the condition is superb and really low miles on the car, or else even at $16 is a bit high.
i got my 94 touring for $13k. it had 1200 miles on the newly rebuilted motor. and the car is in decent condition, couple dings on the rear fender but clean title major flaw or dmg.
i usually see 94's going for 17k if the milage is low and its in near factory condition
good things comes to those who wait. shop around and find the cream of the crop. Will save u from any regrets in the future. hope that helps
