Hearing Spark??

Quick question.. When my car is idling if i get close enough to the driver side portion of the engine i can literally hear sparking ( like the sound of the plugs firing ). Is that normal?!? The wires are stockers and im just wondering if what im hearing is actually arc

your probably arching... check for breaks in the spark plug wire.. this can really mess with performance... easiest way to check is to start the car in a pitch black place.. you will be able to see a spark if it is arching

what if i just asked my wife to "hold these" and i rev the motor... IF she feels toasty after that, i guess its safe to assume there bad

But yes, i got a **** idle and i get that boggy sensation at wot sometimes.

If you still don't see anything in the dark, try spraying a mist of water on the wires to give it something to ground to.
