Having my Stock rims Repainted....what Color should I go with for a Black FD ??
I'm leaning towards a bright silver metalic. My bro. just got a black 330 with 18" rims and they are that color and look so clean !! BUT, I am open for really Any color that would look good with a Black FD. I like the Gunmetal, just not sure that it would look good with black. Lighter colors tend to look better with black unless you are going for the black wheel race look. Any suggestions guys??

I love the way silver looks on black FDs. I'm thinking about getting some silver mesh style rims for my car sometime later this year. Anyone have a nice set of Eniki Aegis rims they want to sell cheap?

Remember, we're talking Stock FD rims. Have any of you seen a Bronzed Stock FD rim...or are you thinking of a Bronze aftermarket Rim on a black FD?? Thanks

Dude, I cannot stress this enough. DONT GET YOUR RIMS PAINTED. Get them powdercoated. Trust me, please...
There is absolutely NO advantage to painting, other than cost, which is still minimal. Powdercoating is stronger, lasts longer, looks better, and you can get just as many colors for powdercoat...the list goes on.
When I first got my car the rims were painted RED. Well, originally they were red, more like PINK now. The paint was chipping, faded, looked like absolute DOG ****. And it was only three years old!
Do yourself a favor. Get powdercoat.

Well, Stock FD Rims are actually painted...not powdercoated. If you get someone who knows his $hit then painting is just as good. I've seen a set of black rims painted go for a year and looks like it did the day it was painted. Here's a pic.

If you get them powder coated, make sure you go to a place that specializes in show car/etc refinishing. I took some parts to an industrial place and some of the parts came out horrible - little airbubbles, and in one case, major waves and distortions.
You're going to pay more, but more then likely they will take the time and effort to make sure it comes out looking good.
Otherwise, I say polish them!

I wouldn't say painting them is bad, so as long as the paint is baked on the wheels. Just painting them the regular way may eventually cause the paint to flake off.
My Vote's with either black chrome or gunmetal

If your brother got 18's so should you.
If you want to spend money on a costmetic like changing the color of rims, consider replacing the rims entirely. It may be more of a payoff, expensive but you will appreciate your car A LOT more.
Here are 3 of my friend's, all on 18's.
Some will argue the loss of performance with 18's. But the BLING factor more than compensates. Many don't argue with me.
