Any synthetic oil is good but not worth the added expenses for a FD.If you are going to replace youre oil every 3K or less which most owners do why buy expesive synthetic oil.Youre motor will not last any longer than someone using mineral based oils the 13BREW dosent fail from oil break down or wear and tear most failers are o-ring related.

Amsoil are well-known racing oil used on the tracks...definately recommend to anyone who don't mind paying more.

been selling amsoil for ten years
as a mechanic and racer i don't understand while there is still a resistance to synthetic lubricants. anywhere you go where machines are used to make money, those machines are using synthetics(assuming the maintenance dept knows what it's doing). i've see the difference firsthand and on high milage engines it is amazing. amsoil 20/50 is the only thing for my fd and just for good measure 4 oz. amsoil synthetic 2 stroke oil mixed in every tank of su2000.

Still has an RX7.

It's $25 for a case (6 quarts) of mobil 1 or syntec at autozone, and like $6 for a purolator pure one filter with the anti-drain back valve. that's about the same cost as going to a jiffy lube or something arond here, so I use syntec 5-50 and do it myself. really not a whole lot more for a better oil. AmSoil is one of the most readily available full-sythetics, but I was not sure on price of it. Syntec and Mobil ones are not full synthetics like they claim. I heard they changed there formula several years back, so it is part dino juice.

Basically synthetics don't burn as much as mineral and can produce more of a carbon buildup causing the seals to stick. A synthetic will be ok for someone who "gets on" the car alot, that will help clean it out.
