Doesn't look like it's even made for a Series 6 RX-7.

I bought it because I needed an OBD-II code reader. Works fine on my Saab ('00 Viggen) and my Jeep ('99 Wrangler.) It had a little trouble with a VW that my brother was diagnosing (but then it's not a $2000 Tech-II) but it read the codes fine from his '02 GTI. VW uses a lot of custom diag codes. It cleared them fine though.

Just so you know, there's no way it will work on a US RX-7. None of them had OBD-II diagnostic ports.

About Digi-moto.. it's the same generic board with the ELM chipset that's floating around the rest of the net.. coupled with some software. Actually the software is weak. Reminescent of the work from a 16 year old with a copy of visual basic). I thought I could come close to datalogging or something but it only catches updates from the car like once a second. Enough to barely use for troubleshooting. Fortunately you can use the other software (or write your own) as it's just a serial interface.

The board is good and the folks from Digimoto sell it at a good price.. but you'll probably want to dig up the original software from the ELM website.

Here's another one with a free software download:

I thought about buying one of these to check out my other cars but never did.

Not kind of odd. cars after '96 came equipped with OBD-II interfaces. Not many before '96 did.

exactly I mean they even show the FD on the advertisement. I guess there are a few 96+ FDs on the forum, but you'd think they'd hopefully pick other forums where a car in NA wasn't discontinued before OBD came into existence.

Actually, it's an R/C car in their ad.
