If the 2jz swap was much easier than an ls people would he doing that more. Because they share the same mentality as the people here. Keep it import.

The ls may be a common boring swap but its one of the greatest most innovated pushrod engine ever.

I mean the zr1 still relies on that power source instead of trying to go overhead cam.

The ls is the best thing to happen to GM. Its a great great engine. Even though i sound biased because I own an ls2 car, my eyes were opened as I got more associated with v8's.

its true most engines are harder to make work in a fd(especially the rb) but imo are worth it. i know in a real car show a show quality rb26/2j fd would draw a much bigger crowd then any ls fd. the ls just doesnt "pop" and is played out imo. :/
import swap > domestic swap any day.
any engine stated here can make plenty of power...more then any fd would ever need but its makes more sense in my head to put a import engine into an import.
the ls1 is a great engine tho. cant knock that im just saying im tired of them. the last big show i went to 60% of the cars there had ls's in them. got boring lol

i guess it all comes down to is the ls is a great option that fits many peoples needs but its not for me. thats all. everytime i see a ls fd in my area i think why not just buy a vette. everything already fits perfectly in a vette.

O btw i heard about a new/recent 2jz swap kit that allows the stock hood and less modification?
any truth to this? anyone else heard of it?

and fd3s20b when are you gonna get the dyno done?
i wanna know the results
My dyno session is Monday! I can't wait to find out the results too.

If the dyno reads in true Dyno Dynamics numbers and they dont have a correction factor to make it read similar to Dyno Jets(our local Dyno Dynamics already has a 17% correction factor added in) then I guess you will be around 342rwhp. In the end it doesnt matter, take it to a track and see what it traps. That will give you the most realistic view of what the car is capable of and what other cars it is capable of running with.

Ditto on that. I will as soon as the track opens around here. I believe it's sometime next month.

LOL. Epic failure at the dyno today. Found out on the dyno that I had a massive boost leak. Tuner tells me that it could either be the turbo or the wastegate is getting hung up. The turbo starts boosting up and at about 19psi it drops down 3-4PSI. So until I get to the bottom of this no real dyno numbers yet.

Yes from what i have read here on the forum, there's a problem with these Apexi wastegates where when it gets hot the valve guide and valve binds up. I will either be getting this one honed or swap out for the HKS s/s one.

Ok I think I found my boost leak and idling problem. After a couple of cans of carb cleaner I found my lower intake manifold gaskets leaking. Parts have been ordered, keeping my fingers crossed.
