AI can only help so much when a car is sitting strapped to a Dyno doing constant pulls especially if the turbo is not big.
If your street port is monsterious and you have an rx6 what do you think that sucker is doing taking all that abuse. Strap a gt40 on there now you will see 450+ guaranteed . At lower boost levels too.
Remember that first pull will determine what power the motor makes in a "cool" state. What's important is the pulls afterwards when it's hot as hell and all the bells and whistles are working together I.e. ....tuning,aux inj., boost, heat soak, etc.....
I have seen guys go to the Dyno and tell the tuner to tune their car in 3 pulls. Hahahaha, then you see them a few weeks later towing it in for a rebuild. What a lot of guys don't get is you have to see what your car will make after a few pulls and hrs in a Dyno to really put a number.

You want easy 500rwhp, swap in an ls2 and do intake headers cam exhaust and tune. You'll have about 470-485rwhp easy.
And you'll have an assload of torque. Everywhere in the rpm range and have reliability.

You're trying to take on a tough task. 500rwhp in an fd is insanely fast. Keep it simple and reliable. Go with the advice given in this thread.

Its gonna depend on the hotside as well or you are gonna choke it up high. 85gslse on here made 367 @ 15-16 no AI. Car felt great and spooled incredible. If you get your AI system dialed in enough to turn the boost up a few pounds and not rob you of horsepower you could see 400. It took alot of tinkering and to get my AI set up spraying a healthy amount without loosing HP. After countless pulls we got it spraying a total of 600cc's 30% meth/ 70% water coming on @ 4psi without any ignition/ spark related jitters. It was well worth the extensive testing. The car made peak power @ peak rpm(7500) with low/mid 11 afrs. Letting us know we were in the sweet spot on the amount and mix. Just depends on how in depth you wanna screw with it. Lotta guys give up on AI that cant get it to do what they want . Every set up is gonna need extensive testing if you want to maximize power while reaping the benifits of AI. I need more injector to go futher and will soon.

just think.... what if im right lol
people will **** bricks.
but on a serious note i will probably be lower then that I'm just having fun. im hoping that monster port you keep talking about pulls thru
20 psi is alot of pressure but rx6 is a small turbo. its amazing how closely those two factors correlate to each other.
example: my friend has the new Hyundai Genesis 2.0T with full exhaust intake and ecu. he is running 24 PSI and just below 300hp because the stock turbo looks like this
http://everythingworthknowing.com/ge.../11/fixon6.jpg
the whole turbo is small but the exhaust housing is crazy small but thats normal on stock turbos.
in his defense that thing has INSTANT torque (better then rx7 stock twins) but dies on the top end kinda hard.
if you want more power you almost have to go bigger

Idk why the desperation to achieve 500rwhp. Just to say it can be done? It has.
Bragging rights? Not worth it.
You're headed down a tough usually ending in a heartbreaking path.
But I know you'll do what you want.
Ill follow your posts so i can be there to say I told you so.

i agree completely with 1QWIK7 with the 500hp 13b thing but
[rant]
people nowadays do ls swaps like a retard on Viagra...
they stick it into anything that fits.
really gets so old seeing it everywhere i go. 240sx 280z's g35's rx7's etc
ya its cool and all but just go buy a corvette.....seriously. cost the same(unless you buy new car) and the engine is made for that car.
put something interesting in there if your going to swap motors. 2jz, 20b, even an rb25/26(<heard the rb's are a pain tho)
[/rant]
lol
but i think 400+ will be enough for most guys around here

Its not old when the engine works. It fits with basically little to no major fabrication. All the other engines you mentioned will provide less effective results and will probably cost the same, if not more to make it fit.
You're right though. I would rather have a vette, a C6Z to be specific but if people are going to spend the money to go big on HP, i think there are other more smarter ways of doing it. Thats why i mentioned the LS.
Either way, i believe the OP will learn the hard way. Its sad but in a way its people like him that give FD's a bad name. Know your limits. Wanting 500hp with no purpose is just asking for trouble. Like you said, a 400rwhp FD is a monster. Asking for more is just stupid (in my opinion). You're pushing a streetable 13B to the very limit trying for 500. It doesnt last very long there.

its true most engines are harder to make work in a fd(especially the rb) but imo are worth it. i know in a real car show a show quality rb26/2j fd would draw a much bigger crowd then any ls fd. the ls just doesnt "pop" and is played out imo. :/
import swap > domestic swap any day.
any engine stated here can make plenty of power...more then any fd would ever need but its makes more sense in my head to put a import engine into an import.
the ls1 is a great engine tho. cant knock that im just saying im tired of them. the last big show i went to 60% of the cars there had ls's in them. got boring lol
i guess it all comes down to is the ls is a great option that fits many peoples needs but its not for me. thats all. everytime i see a ls fd in my area i think why not just buy a vette. everything already fits perfectly in a vette.
----------
O btw i heard about a new/recent 2jz swap kit that allows the stock hood and less modification?
any truth to this? anyone else heard of it?
and fd3s20b when are you gonna get the dyno done?
i wanna know the results
