Question Ground problem?

Every couple of times that I try to start my 93' touring automatic the engine will not turn over. It acts like the battery is dead. If I go back to the off position and try again 3 or 4 times it will then start. It will also start when I take the key out flip it over and then try to start. Any suggestions?

ARe you sure your battery isn't just going bad? Also, try some WD-40 into the key hole.

1) Put some WD40 in the key hole
2) Wirebrush clean battery posts and connectors
3) Check for frayed wires to starter

Mine does the same thing - I think it may be a problem with the "park" interlock and or dirty / worn out contacts in the Ignition switch. I am considering moding the starter circuit with a pushbuton located inplace of the cig lighter (a'la S2000)

My 93 does the same thing. I thought it was the starter but after I took it to get it rebuilted, I still have the same problem. I'll spray some WD40 to the ignition first and check the wire on the outside of starter. I hope that will solve the problem.

Your starter just clicking COULD also be the sign of a bad starter solenoid...
