Greddy M-Spec FMIC (pipe length not right)

So i'm installing the Greddy m-spec intercooler when i get to this simple little issue.

The pipe which connects the elbow to the I-3 pipe(which then connects to the intercooler) is not the right length.

But in the instruction pictures, its funny because it looks like they tell you to just reverse it. reversing it won't make the pipe grow by about 7"

hmmmm am i missing a pipe? or..

Now i could go and find a straight 2 3/4" pipe with a slight bend.. however i think this is unreasonable since it is supposed to fit.. somehow.

Anyone else notice this?

Did you get the one for the Greddy elbow or the OEM elbow? Looks like it is for the OEM elbow.

There are two different pipes. One for the stock elbow (which you appear to have) and one for the Greddy elbow.

Yes, this was a copy. Maybe it's missing the pipe?

Take that pipe to the any good local shop and they can weld an extesion on for you for way less headache and way cheaper than trying to source just that pipe from Greddy.

None of the replicas i have seen are meant to work with the greddy elbow out of the box. All are setup for the stock elbow.

As stated... it's for the stock elbow.
I went and got another pipe and had it welded to the smaller piece from the kit. I think I spent a total of $40 and that included having a flange welded on for the BOV.

Replicas go to the stock elbow. I have some extra piping if you want some for the Greddy elbow.

Jason! Extra piping would be awesome!

I took a lot more pictures and will be posting the install with some of my pictures. Install went well, the greddy instructions are hard to read with the pictures so i'm sure this will help any of the new guys.

I also know that i'm supposed to run with the greddy intake since i don't think my apexi intake will fit.. but i'm going to try to re-route it to keep the apexi intakes...

Thanks Jason!

Josh,
To fit the Apexi intakes you can use intake pipe kit and shorten it. Like these
http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/polishedpipekit.htm or something similar.

i do have those pipes (i may have gotten them from you a while back) and that's exactly what i was planning on doing to try to get them to fit.

Thanks again Jason!

Do you still have that extra piping?

*it's too bad you don't sell S13 and 09 WRX parts..*

You sir are 100% correct....
I looked at my setup, which is real Greddy, and it included the pipe.
The ETS setup I installed on my sons FD needed the extra pipe...

Good luck finishing up

Im installing the same kit, except I have the long pipe for the Greddy elbow and now need to buy said elbow.

Also the fitment on the turbo side was very toight between both new pipes, I almost want to take a little off the each side.
