im getting additional injector holders to weld onto my elbow..... only thing i dont know is if i need steel or aluminum, they offer them in both......anyone know? thanks

Steel is heavier. Either can be welded.

if youre wanting to polish it, use aluminum. . . the greddy elbow is aluminum

Get the aluminum bungs - as my welder told me once, "If I could weld steel to aluminum, I wouldn't be working here, I'd be retired at my private island".

In other words, you have to get the same material if you want to weld the bungs on. The elbow is aluminum, so you need aluminum.

very good point. . . haha, dont even know why i didnt point that out in my earlier post. haha. i guess they sell the steel bungs so you can have options as to where you put them.

Yeah that’s what I was going to say....... you beat me to it. You can’t weld steel onto aluminum it doesn’t work. You have to use two different types of gas and wire for both applications.

additionally:

6061 is a easy to weld material, BUT im not sure about welding it to a cast aluminum piece.

I agree with BoostCrzy, just get a piece ready made, save you the hassle looking for a good welder
