Greddy 2row FMIC & Airinx Intake install pictures

I just recently installed this FMIC, the Greddy Airinx intake, and relocated the air intake temp. sensor to the end of the pipe that connects to the IC outlet. Below is a link to all the pictures I took. There are lots of pictures of my car before and after the install, and a large amount of pictures taken during the install.

Before the install, I read many posts linking to nocab72's site with installation instuctions and pictures at http://flathat.woodstream.net/RX7/Greddy_FMIC_Install/ , however his website server was not working for a while when I was deciding on which IC to buy and looking for instructions and pictures. I actually just now seen that the site has recently started working within the past few days. I finished my install last week, I wish his site would have been working alittle sooner. Because his site was down, I decided to take a lot of pictures hoping they could help anyone in the future who wanted to see pictures.

Overall the install was not hard, I did it all by myself without anyone elses brain or hands, it was all just very time consuming. I spent about 3 days all together doing all the work (off and on), but I enjoy working on the car doing these bigger jobs and I take my time (no hurry). I removed all the A/C parts and lines, so that added a little time removing those, but probably saved a lot of time and made the install easier not having to relocate the A/C condensor and that other black can part in the drivers side front corner of the engine bay. It just took a while to get one bolt threaded out to get the A/C compressor out. All my brackets I had to make added a lot of time, especially all the brackets for the AST. The power steering cooler line took some time because it didn't fit correctly with the hoses, it had to be bent a lot to fit okay. I relocated the battery to the hatch, so that took a bunch of time. I am glad I did that so there is more room under the hood, it would have been a little hard to fit the battery under the hood so I am glad I didn't have to do that.

Just let me know if anyone needs any help or has any questions about the install or anything. I hope the pictures helps someone in the future.

And no overheating or anything close to overheating!! My water temps may run a couple of degrees higher, but with the fans on at least low much of the time there basically is no difference before and after, and I always have kept a close eye on the water temps, we have had some hot weather up here lately. I don't think temps have got above 99C while driving, and if they get close the fans bring the temps down lower in a reasonably quick amount of time. Note I do have a Fluidyne radiator, fan mod, and FC thermoswitch.

I have not had any cold start problems with the AWS hose plugged because I also added the Greddy elbow, many have reported a stale after the first cold start. Though, it is still summer so the temps are not really cold when I start my engine cold.

I am very happy with the new setup, everything looks soo much better, and there seems to be a nice performance increase. I just added a little fuel to the PFC INJ map to be safe, with my mods I think I should be ok.

I was unsure about that at first. On their website it says "they're spill-proof and can withstand 15 times the vibration of ordinary batteries."

And

"Nonspillable. Due to its completely sealed case, the OPTIMA Yellow Top battery is extremely safe and corrosion resistant. Acid can't leak or spill, making them clean, user-friendly and environmentally sound. In addition, the maintenance free sealed case design eliminates the need to add water or clean terminals."

And "Nonspillable and can mount in almost any position"

So I figured as long as it isn't upside down, it should be fine! thanks for your concern.

I am currently working on the boost settings, but the primary boost is going to 11 and the boost gets up to about 13 or 14 psi at high rpms. I am having troubles getting the primary boost higher without making the secondary boost too high. I will be keeping it at 13-14 psi. My injector duty cycles stay below 90 or 85.
