Got a knightsports cf hood, what is the best way to protect the filters

I am trying to find a good way to have open filters but keep them protected from the holes in the hood. I am thinking of getting the apexi kit and use it with my greddy kit and turn the filters towards the fender so they are not under the hole in the hood.

anyone have pics of there setup, would be greatly appreciatted so i can get some ideas of what to do so my filters dont get wet or anything like that.

thanks
Thomas

I have the knightsport hood on my car. It has a greddy t78 turbo with the intake filter right under the vent. I dont drive the car in bad weather conditions, but I have gotten stuck in pouring rain and not had any problem. I wash the car regularly and not cover up the vents, and still no problem. The filter is a little dirty now, but that is expected when your turbo sucks as much air as mine does

that hood is done up nice except he covered all the vents with plastic and that kind of defeats the purpose of a vented hood.

but nice that is for sure.

more input please

Well, duh, that's what rain trays do. You remove the trays when it's not raining.

The point is that when it is raining, you hardly need the cooling properties of a vented hood. If you were so worried about rain, why did you get a vented hood?

Hey Lil Red 7, I have a R-Magic carbon fiber hood and a Greddy dual intake system, the filters are exactly at the vents of the hood. It rains a lot here in England and I've never had any problems with them, if that helps any.

i've got the mazdaspeed style carbon hood and the vents dont give me any trouble. wash, rain or whatever. For the filters I ran one at each turbo you can go here for pics of it. Look at the black engine bay, I did the filters after I painted it. The red is the before shot.
