Red face Good 7 gone bad...

My fd took a dump on me! It had been running so good these few months until a few hours ago! I'm still learning but this one stumped me. Hopefully you guys can help me out.

I was driving fine when I speed up just a bit to get through the yellow light. I slow down and get into a shopping center to get some food. As the car is in low rpm it completely stalls. I check my guages and it says charge battery. I'm thinking I simply stalled and start her up and I notice my idle is way lumpy and jumps from 800rpm to 1000rpm about every 3rd of a second then turns off again. I turn her on and I have to keep reving the car above 2000rpm to keep her from turning off. As i'm driving back home and keep the rpms at about 2500. I can tell something is still wrong because even at low-mid rpms the car still fluctuates very minutely. The car still had its normal pull although I didn't push it to check to see if the second turbo kicked in. As a parked her I noticed light black smoke comming out of the exhaust in pulses along with the lumpy idle. It's always had clean exhaust fumes. Actually, now that I think about it, the car had recently been idling real high at start-up. Around 3000rpm. I usually just blip the throttle and bring it down (thinking AWS). I also notice when the car completely warmed up it would idle kinda lumpy but not to the degree of this night. Some guru got any ideas? I know I need a new hose job and have been told that sometimes a leaking/popped-off hose can cause the high starting idle. But, what about the lumpy idle, the stalling, and the light black smoke?

ps. Most people seem to agree it's the map sensor hose. I'll check it tomorrow or when I have time.

check your FPR hose as well. when the vacc. hose comes the pressure will rise. this allows more fuel to enter the engine and voila. . . black smoke. just a thought.

DO A DAMN HOSE JOB. . . THE WHOOOOOOOLE THING!!

How about the MAP sensor? It's a little black box on a bracketmounted on the firewall above the brake booster. Sometimes the vacuum hose on the underside of it pops off.
