going to dave for the first time

hi all im going ota dave for the first time. the appt is for aug 1st and 2nd to have turbocharger replaced with 99spec and also dp,intake, ast, boost gauge, and maybe cat back. pretty much trying to get the car reliable. leak free and a little more pep. anyway i hear a lot of stories about how a bunch of you have had ur car there for a long time. heh im getting kinda worried. should i not expect him to finish my car any time soon. also does he dyno the car?

Thumbs up

You won't be disappointed. Dave is the bomb-diggity .

He's had trouble in the past with dishonest employees. That's the main reason that sometimes cars sit there for so long--for a long while, Kim and Dave were the only two working on the 7's. They couldn't trust anyone else.
Hopefully he's gotten some good help.

take it easy--

i had the chance to speak with him today....after all my problems with xs and not being able to find a dyno...guess who just had my datalogs and maps emailed to him?

you got that right...the only shop without any negative posts on this entire forum.

i ran about a half dozen different types of runs...WOT, partial throttle...street driving...cruising...0-150 WOT etc...sent all of em off with a copy of my maps.

had i not heard so many things from people like goodfella above Id not have found a quick solution to my tuning woes.

thanks guys

Whoa, wait a second....you're telling me that you actually spoke with Dave on the phone? Holy sheep ****! I love the guy, but he can be harder to get in touch with than Jimmy Hoffa

Oh, and you're welcome

Anytime you need anything, just send me a pm...

Gotta agree with goodfella on the communication problem but Dave is by far the best that I've been to. I think he has two more guys working on 7's now. Both of whom are crazy cool. I have my car there now for a Haltech install. I've also heard good things about Acostas' place, MVA in Jersey.

thanks rich...will do

he has a car similar to mine there right now too....m2 turbos....no streetport though...im anxious to see what kind of numbers the guy pulls.

I tuned my car to the best i could...and sent the maps...hopefully he wont cringe when he sees them. Im a newbie at the timing/tuning issues.

gotta say..dave was one of the nicest guys Ive dealt with...very helpful...and a good listener...I appreciated that when i spoke with him for sure!

anyhow...will let ya know

he has my vote of confidence...just from speaking with him.

good luck with yer car.

Up until last summer you could call Dave anhd actually "talk to him" but now I just email him everything I need including making appointments and he gets back to me within 1-2 days always. Not many people have 20-30+ FDs at their shop waiting to be worked on except KD. My car was up there last summer from April to August for a new streetported engine. Definitely the coolest and most knowledgeable about FDs than anybody I've heard of.
