Question Glove Compartment Redo

The glove comparment in our '93 seems to be all there, just not working (lever doesn't seem to move anything).

I've searched but haven't found a redo narrative, has anyone taken the glove box apart and rebuilt/repaired it? If so is there a link?

Thanks

If you're talking about the handle to open it, give Ray at Malloy Mazda a call. The handles are close to $12.

You'll need to use a small screw driver to push the lever inside to open it. Then undo the screws, drop the old one out, and the new one in.

Not the handle.
The glove box attaches to a metal bar (horizontal) -- that bar attaches to two plastic pieces. It looks like these two plastic pieces have broken over time. There are two holes in the metal bracket (each side) and the plastic piece they go into has a plastic *** for the bottom hole and an open screw hole for the top. But, both of these two-holed plastic brackets have been broken. So, you can't get a solid attachment of the box to the horizontal metal bracket.

Anyone worked around this??

Thanks

The L ends (brackets on the vertical bar that the glove box hangs on.

What is the attachment supposed to be like from these L's to the plastic holders?

Mine are broken, so I don't know if it was screws or pressure or what.

The L part of the brackets do have two holes drilled in them. I think the bottom one went onto a plastic nipple as a guide and the top hole had some type of bolt or screw, that's what I'm trying to figure out.

thanks,

The metal piece is call a striker, and if you broke the mounting tab on the dash, a)plastic weld area and retap holes, b)replaced dash, and c)epoxy a mounting plate to the dash, then bolt the striker to that plate.

Good luck.
