Glove Box Handle Fell Off!

Does anyone know how to take the entire glove box off so I can have easier access to replacing the glove box handle? Or, is there an easier way?

um, i have to rip the vinyl off and drill a hole to get the screw back into the handle. still haven't managed to get the vinyl back on tho. to take it off, just unscrew the 2 phillips screws under the box and it'll fall right out

My advice to you is to not lose any of the internals. If not then Mazda will try to have you replace the whole glovebox for $300.

I got my glove box handle for like $20 from the dealer and they had it in stock.

Mine broke too...but if you look up towards where the handle was you can use a small screwdriver and move a lever. I forgot exactly what but it's not hard to find, just play a little and you'll get it open. Then order the handle and replace it. You don't need to drill or anything like what other people say.

I see both Louis M and PureMdMa have 94s like me (93 and 94 boxes are different 'cause of the airbag in the 94). I wasn't aware that we could just buy the handle i though you needed the whole box.... well i'll be damned!!! $20 i'm gonna go tomorrow. i've been driving around for almost a year with a broken handle in my FD.
