Well if the tank is stll full, you can't do anything about it. Just don't get on the boost or anything or you'll get some knock. Octane booster is crap. Just add some toluene mixed with two stroke oil or marvel mystery oil. Just add one or two gallons of the toluene. Toluene is 114 octane. So you can do the math. I don't think there will be damage to the motor at all off boost.

I wouldn't even bother with addatives. My friend used to put 87 in only and drove around for 2 years until I saw him and told him to only use premium. The computer will just retard the timing if it starts to knock..

Do you have any mods???
Rotary powered cars run rich at idle, I would find add some Toluene, don't put Marvel or 2 stroke, because while its good for lube, it will bring you octane down even lower.

I only let her drive it on special occasions. I guess she thought me being on vacation was one.

Not being an *** or anything, but if you like your car, don't let anyone drive it.

It's cool to let friend see how powerful the car can be, and let girlfriends get behind the wheel... but if anything happens to the car while they are driving, it turns into an insurance nightmare that you REALLY don't want to deal with...

For your sake, I would suggest you get out of the habit of those "special occassions" unless you are part of the same insurance branch (not just company, the same branch).

It's not that hard at all... just don't stomp on it for this tank of gas! keep it under ~ 5psi and it'll be fine

Yes, octane boost will work. I think 89 would be fine, but to ease the pain add the booster. When tank gets down a bit, add some 94 if available, or even a higher octane. In Central NJ there is a station that sells Cam 2, don't know about your area.

man, i really dont see the big deal of his GF driving it around.

and if she wrecks it, and it becomes an insurance nightmare (doesnt even offer to pay the deductible), then dump her, cuz shes not worth marrying.

First off: You need to do a little recalibration on your girlfriend.

Then just take it easy on your car. The drop in octane by adding 4 oz of marvel mystery oil is miniscule. I wouldn't add it now though. It should be added at fill up to ensure proper mixing.

Maybe your GF was trying to be nice and keep your battery charged and keep your car from sitting while you are away.
I have no problems with my girl doing it, infact she's doing it right now.
She only puts in the good stuff and even premixes for me.

I say don't be too harsh one the women, **** maybe she thought she was helping, its only a freaking car.

Should could have put 87 in the tank.

Like I said just drive down to a paint supply store and get some toulene and add it.
Most octane boosters contain a small amount of it and won't raise the rating worth ****.

Its better to buy the pure stuff and add it.
