Gap above OMP?

Hey guys,

I'm ripping into my engine for the first time. I just yanked the turbos to port the wastegates and took a break to admire my handiwork. I've been spending some time just looking at everything and figuring it all out. I have a pretty good understanding of the whole system, but being able to actually see what I'm learning about helps immensely.

Anyway, I was looking at the OMP system, and getting ready to put the block off plate on it (I'm going pre-mix) when I noticed this gap. It seems out of place, and as far as I know, there's no reason for it to be there.

Is this right? Should there be a gap? I haven't touched anything with the OMP yet. Could this be the mysterious oil leak I can't seem to find?

It's nothing more than an emtpy cavity. Don't stress over it. All the OMP oil is behind the rubber oval gasket section.
