Walbro is cheaper but a bit nosier then the supra pump. Both are good pumps and have been backed on the forum many times.

^^ That is easier.
If the radio is off, you can hear the pump cycle when you turn the acc key on. Next I would make sure the fuel filter has been replaced recently, if it is plugged you will get no/little pressure at the injector. Then I would remove the pump and make sure the fitting/line on the top of the pump is not broken and just pumping fuel back into the tank.
Personally I recommend the supra pump. If you go the less expensive route and pick up a walbro, purchase it from a reputable dealer to get an authentic walbro and not a cheap copy that is notorious for failing.
ALSO, below is a link the the FD factory service manual (FSM) it will help you with this as well as most any other question on removing factory parts, troubleshooting, etc...

Thank you all for your efforts, would i be right in saying replacing the fuel pump will add a little more reliability to the vehicle itself as i heard some parts will help reliability? With the supra one is it a straight swap? Toyota supra one.

Ok i put my head next to fuel tank whilst ignition turned on and didnt hear any noises from the fuel pump, i tested the connection on top before pulling the pump out with a volt meter which said 12volts coming through, I then removed the probe and took of the fuel pump, connected the fuel pump straight too a battery which worked. I dont understand this, Any advice?

There are 2 possibilities I see the way you've done your diagnostics.
1: The fuel was somewhat seized up and the factory fuel pump harness having extra resistance in there not able to turn the pump over efficiently, therefore the fuel pump can be or becoming bad.
2: the fuel pump relay is not seeing an "ignition" signal from the ignition switch or somewhere along the line causing it not to ground over the fuel pump circuit therefore you couldnt hear any pumping activities.
That's why I've suggested to jump the F/P to the GND circuit at the left front of the diagnostic box under the hood, that way you will know for sure if the pump was bad because that actually turn on your fuel pump at full speed and not just priming.
But my guess would be that your fuel pump is no good. That's when sometime you see people grab a mallet and have somebody crank the car while they wreck the bottom of the fuel tank to "unseize" the fuel pump.

***UPDATE****
Tonight i put the old fuel pump back in and connected the f/p to gnd on the diagnostic box. Could hear the fuel pump ticking away, seemed slightly tempremental as sometimes i could hear it clicking away and sometimes when i connected it you couldnt hear anything, dunno whether that would be because it had primed? At no stage could i hear or feel vibrations when ignition was on or trying to start the car so to me it seemed as though their is some issue between turning the ignition on to the fuel pump. I have ordered a fuel filter which will be replaced anyway when that arrives, havent checked the old one yet tho. I need to add that the original battery had died when i bought it so i am using a 44amp battery from my A3 which is a lower amp then the one i had.
I read somewhere that you can feed fuel into the engine with a syringe but i cant find where i read that or what pipe it goes into.
Any advice or help in this matter is really appreciated.

Get a Supra replacement or OEM or even Walbro should do. Good luck.

When i tried the wire jump in the diagnostic box i accidently put it in the wrong one to start with and it sparked, the only obvious thing it did was when the ignition is turned on the HEAT light would stay on but after putting it in the wrong connection the HEAT light isnt on. Have i damaged something?

When installing it one bit of advice. The fuel output that connects the pump to the hardline on the assembly is a plastic clip. Replace it with two clamps and a piece of FUEL INJECTION hose. It is a more reliable connection.

I have replaced the fuel filter, and replaced the fuel pump. I am still not hearing the fuel pump when i turn the ignition on. although i can however hear it when i jump the leads in the diagnostic box as it is ticking away nicely, Any suggestions on why i cant hear it when the ignition is on?
