Front Windshield Replacement Parts
I am going to be replacing my front window soon and am making a list of the parts I need. As far as I can tell from the Body Manual (pg. 3-L 5), all I need is a trim strip (FD01-50-894) and a spacer (EA01-50-891A for early 1993s; different numbers for other years). Are there any other parts I need?
Also there appears to be three types of tinting based on the colour of car:
Blue Tint/Blue Shade
Bronze Tint/Blue Shade
Gray Tint/Gray Shade
Anybody know which works for BB?
TIA

I got my windshield for $100 in a place in houston, the weather stripping for $10, and 2 tubes of the sealant they use for $10. If i had taken the car to them they would have replaced it for the same $120 i spent including parts and labor, which is a hell of a deal, unfortunately the car wasnt on the road at the time.
It was pretty easy installing it, you def need another person. i didnt use any shims. just the things i listed, came out very nice. so just get the glass, rubber trim and sealant and you're good to go.

i'd let a pro do it. you absolutely run the risk of a hospital visit if you don't have the tools. don't mess around with that .....
i saw a professional window installer damn near bleed to death once. NO THANKS!

Na i've replaced 2 windshields, it's not that bad if you are mechanically inclined. The hard part is getting through the sealant on the old windshield. But juans autoglass replaces them for a real good price. Windshields crumble, you can't really get hurt with that kind of glass.

I recently replaced my windshield (mid '93--BB base) and used the Bronze. According to Ray Crowe, the bronze was used exclusively in '93 and is the correct glass to use (it was not used in subsequent years). I notice that It correctly matches the tint in my side glass. The factory bronze WS had a grey tinted strip vs. the replacement bronze I received, which has a blue-ish tint strip at the top.
I also used the factory rubber moulding for a cleaner look, rather than the wide "painters moulding" that glass shops use/sell.
The available blue/green windshield tint is a solar control tint that is used in newer cars to reduce heatload in the cab....If I were to do it again, I would seriously consider using it.

I do Autoglass. I've done a few 3rd gens, and the shade band color depended on the year/ vehicle color. I used a universal molding as the kind I had was nearly identical. They are very easy actually.
