Spray it with engine bright foam cleaner & wipe it off with a clean shop rag.
Then spray it with some WD-40 and re-wipe it down with paper towles.
It will look clean, have a protective coating and look nice.
And won't feel greasy...
That's what I did to afgmoto1978's engine before cracking open with the boys.

My shop charged $1300 for the swap and did a great job. The motor had a completely stable idle (no wandering) and felt smooth since mile 1. Until of course i bungled some wiring, but the motor is great

Ha you know you shouldn't post that your core engine is not in factory condition, now I cant approve your core...... totally jk, we haven't touched those engines and honestly they are pretty much not even touching the rx7 engines still. Its not even up to our facility to decide if its a good core or not, if its too obvious we have to take a picture and email it to the people who decide but honestly the supervisors are checking those engines in now and they don't have training on the rx7 engines and how to tell them apart. They got another shipment in of the same engines from japan since I sorta posted that we had them, they sold a few more then they expected although I didn't mention that I told some people about them online. In the end they make money off selling them to the dealer and you get a new engine so they shouldn't be mad if I told them that I told the world we had them. And yes that is a protective sorta grease on the engines, they were after all shipped by boat I believe with our part shipments we get.
