I ordered and received the ebay FEED type torque bar. The instructions are excellent...required some drilling of the mount to shift the connecting mount to nut rub the ABS nut closest to the firewall. The instructions are detailed with pics and straight forward. The mounts are about 1/8" thick...not sure of the material/metallurgy.
The benefits are easily seen and felt. My idle become smoother as did my shifting. There is no rattling at idle and my pettit short shifter does not move as much during revs and hard acceleration. The piece is very nice and adequately packaged.
Good purchase for $110...if the FEED type torque brace is your preference. I am sure Garfinkles and excellent choice too.

If you all are disinterested in purchasing something from David, fine. But it is time to put the implied character assassination crap away. Enough!!
BTW I agree wholeheartedly with you about Steve, but he is exactly like David in that he earned my respect one on one. You should try the same with David. . It sounds like he's a great guy and an asset to the rotary community. Based upon duboisr's many responses in the 3rd gen section, I had come to the conclusion that the guy knew his $hit, whoever he was.This is the first time that I've seen a response to the "Who is Garfinkle?" question (I was away from the forum from the time I deployed in early april until a few weeks ago, with some minimal access available sporadically). I just recieved the torque brace that I bought on Ebay. It looks exactly like the feed one. Instalation was simple. I thought it would vibrate the car because there is no rubber to help absorb the vibrations. To my surprise it was vibration free. The car felt new. It makes the short shifter that much more accurate. I would recommend it to everyone.

I used it and bolts in right the first time no drilling & no BS. Does not vibrate the car to hell and looks good. But this is IMO. Why go thru all this crap to get all these "other styles" when you can get a easy 123 install brace cheap and easy from the above link.

I have not had both in my car but I have driven a car with both. The Garfinkle brace is the way to go. There is minimal vibration at start up and none while driving or stoping. The Garfinkle brace is solid and a pleasure to have in my car.

Ok.. Do any of you have pics of this famous Garfinkle brace??
Also, the one on ebay.. the shock.. how much pound does it take to compress.. If its a cheap shock, I don't know if it will do any good.. or maybe it doesn't compress at all.. and just a look.
