As with the OP...I was considering a CYM FD, but in the end I couldn't just see myself in a yellow car. Now a black FD is just pure sex

The smooth finish does look nice when its in pristine condition but just about every '93 FD I've ever seen has the interior plastic in terrible shape. Theres 3 things I dont like about 93's interior: 1) The plastic (unless brand new which is rare) 2) The ugly warning sticker on the plastic below the radio 3) The ugly passenger seat belt buckle that looks like it came out of an old truck from a junkyard

CYM's are nice but I dont know if I could drive it around much without worrying about all the extra attention the car gets because of the bright color.

When and if these cars become collectable the CYM will likely take the prize.

However I'll take my SSM R2. I'd like a white base for show though

Whoever buys a CYM roller for 10k that needs a 5k plus paint job may as well fall face first in front of a jack hammer.

For colour combo, I have always like the 94 brilliant black on red. I dont like the way the dash was black and the doors red on the 93, but in 94 when they just did the seats and such in red it flowed much better.

I personally like the red/tan over any because of the natural color of hotness and speed. It gives the seven tone and a bit of luxury.

The most ultimate CYM rebuild ever...

I love CYM color when it came out. I sold mine in '05 cause it really didn't make sense to have with 2 kids. Loved it and still miss it...

I'm not a fan of CYMs at all. They're good looking as far as yellow cars go, I've seen way worse but theyre definitely not desirable at all to me.

I always loved the BB FDs with black base model interior best. I ended up with a MB with tan leather interior only because I got a great deal on it. If it wasn't for my budget it would've been a black R2 model with base model seats all the way. The MB color did grow on me though over time but not enough I guess, the cars coming out of the shop later this week in Innocent Blue Mica.

I also always loved the silver with red interior.

CYM = overrated. The preferred color is any of the whites. They look simply awesome decked out with 99spec parts and appropiate wheels.

No doubt Jeff. Yours was the ultimate project. I loved the attention to detail that went into your project. Too bad you didn't keep her.....

I love the Montego ...
My SLK55AMG had a similar colour! Really beautiful!

Unfortunately my FD is red. But I´ll make the best out of it.

PR Original CYM

I live in Puerto Rico and you might be surprised to know that there are a lot of CYMs around considering our size (small island...only 100 miles east to west). I own one and I can vouch for at least 3 more cars in good condition and a two more that had 20b conversions done.

RX7s are really appreciated here, you can say rotaries are almost a cult with a numerous crowd as followers. You can check more at: http://www.rotorespr.net/menu/menu.html (sorry...it's in spanish).

Mine is 100% original and mostly stock except for efini Y-pipe, DP, HiFloCat and RB Exhaust.

My pride and joy has only 13,950 miles...

From the best Need for Speed game ever!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhPCd...layer_embedded

The CYM and the Porsche 944? were my favorite cars in that game back in the day. That game introduced me to the FD and ever since then I wanted one.

Funny. I have a CYM but originally when I was heavily-searching for an initial FD, I was all up on finding an '94 R2 Brilliant Black (Dale, too bad I didn't know you back then!). Never found one. Based on auto trader, classifieds, etc...the closest FD of any color to me was a few cities away (my town is small). But fortunately, a co-worker told me his friend had a CYM for sell that was just recently advertised for sell and I ended up picking it up. At the time, I didn't care of the CYM color because it was already hard to find one after realizing finding a black FD since it was ultra hard...I was just excited to pick up an FD. But shortly after owning one..I wouldn't pick up any other color as #1 color preference...I love the Competion Yellow Mica. I guess you have to see one in person versus seeing pics. Sure, it's as bright as dayas a pure yellow car but at least it's not off-yellow like the Sunburst Yellow or soft Volkswagen Beetle Yellow. Though I would say Brilliant Black is 2nd and White is 3rd if I did pick up spare FDs.

Ultimately, I love all FDs color as I still today, stare at one if I see one pass by me even though I already have one. I never think about a car's color initially when I see one (FD, 370Z, TT, Mustang, etc)...the shape and styling occurs first in my mind. THE only car color I hate are the custom Khameleon paint jobs...

P.S. ...to the one that said the CYM paint was bad. It's actually probably the best. I've seen a lot of FDs and reds seems to have the worst of it. Vintage Red, when in great condition, is beautiful however. My paint is glossy and shiny and I don't wax religiously either. No signs of aging or fading/wear. You should ask AMP or Stokejvx on here for their feedback on CYM finish, too.

I was going to say the same thing, both of my CYM's have great paint, even after all these years. I'd say the 93 VR's have the worst paint, by far.

...hehe, sorry about that. I think I recall your username change somewhere a few months back now that I think about it. Beautiful girls you have. Cheers!

P.S. ...I just checked out your gallery link in your signature. See you use a Apple/Mac too...great taste! CYM FDs and now Apple products. We both own products people hate/love!
