flooded, alternator, fuse, or battery?

I had the front of the car up on ramps today to work on an ac line. To get at it I disconnected the alternator and unplugged it and, in addition, disconnected and removed the battery. When she was all back together she would crank but not turn over. Now generally from other posts I would assume that this was due to flooding, but i didn't do any quick cold starts. Also, I don't smell fuel. I am thinking it is due to the battery or the alternator because when I turn the car on, none of the dash lights turn on and i cannot turn on the radio or anything else. I had a problem with the alternator connection previously and the wiring harness connecting to it is a little black and cruddy. Would this stop the car from turning over? I tried jumping the car a few times as well as starting it with the gas pressed. I guess I will check to see if the plugs are all wet. Any ideas?

Which fuses should I focus on? Which ones deal with the car turning over and the accessories turning on?

It definitely not flooded, you have another problem if none of your dash lights come on. Probably a fuse somewhere.
