FL Fixing the Security and Overheat Lights Pics

The Overheat light "should" light when you turn the key on.
The Security light "should" light solid when you arm the alarm, then blink while the car is secured.

Our lights didn't do Anything.

Radio Shack has the replacement bulbs --#272-1092, you get 2 bulbs for $1.99.

1. Remove the lights by popping off the center console and unscrewing 2-3 screws and unplugging the harnesses.

2. On the bottom of each there are 2 holes, one shows a solder point and the other is the light bulb housing. A flat head screwdriver will turn the bulb holder to loosen, then it just falls out. The black holder w/bulb and new bulbs(pic)

The bulb's wires are wound around the black base. Unwind them so that you can remove the old bulb.

New bulb has long wires, just insert them through the holes and wrap them as the old ones were. Snip excess wire and reinstall bulb tightening with a flat head screwdriver.

Repeat for other light if needed and reinstall to center console.

Voila -- finally a CHEAP fix for something.

Very nice find! That would probably work for a lot of the interior illumination bulbs as well.

I think my bulb is burned out. I'm going to give this a try, too.

Thanks for posting and thanks for bumping, ppritchard and chicagozer.

Bulb #7219 can be found in Canada online at the Source (Web ID: 2721092): http://www.thesource.ca/estore/produ...e&tab=1&aff=cj

I can confirm, the little radioshack bulb did the trick. Security lamp back in effect.

I also programmed the code on the radio (I suspect for the first time) so the LED flashes too for good measure.
