Looks like you need to sell me some shtuff to finance some Killer Bee refurbishment!!

The video remind me of all the ride alongs i got at the PCA event. Fritz only runs the Bee at 9-10 psi, street-car ride height, usually with dead tires, and you still feel like the jolly green... er... yellow giant out there. Like you went out for a pick up game of basketball with a bunch of 6th graders.

I'll see you guys at VIR in the spring for sure.

Why do so many track guys run CCW wheels? I'm assuming that Damian and Fritz both have sets from what I can see

they are relativly cheap and more importantly they are very light for the size, and less importantly they are 3 piece (bend one part of the outer rim you just replace that half, not the entire rim...i had to do that once ..hehehe)

I thought when I checked prices on em, "cheap" was the last thing that came to mind. Thought they were in line with Kinesis or HRE's

well, here is a comparo for you:

the kinesis rims that came on my track car
18x10 3-piece = $5000 or more new

the ccw i picked up for tracking
18x10 3-piece = $2000 new (and are slightly lighter than the kinesis)

:-)

by the way, I need ot get you out for a ride next time were at autobahn together again

hey Aaron, i still concider myself a rookie ;-) but I trust me, I got addicted a fews years back when I did my first event!!!

Yep, I have probably 50 track events under me now, but its all relative, for example, Fritz said he had been to VIR like 50 times....his experience on VIR alone is my entire experience at all the track I have ever been to. If there is anything I have learned in this game its that its all relative, the car, ther driver, the track, the money, the dedication, et, et, et...

...but its simple for me, I just LOVE DRIVING!!!

NO DOUBT!!! Fritz is not afraid to slide the car to get it in the spot he wants, you can tell he is loving every minute of it...and so was I when I was in his passenger seat :-)

Anyway I'll post some more when I get a chance and it was nice meeting all the new folk and can't wait until the PCA event in Dec. Oh I feel so good I'll be leavin the house just like this hehe
Fritz!!! hahah, man I can even articulate how much fun I had with ya out there my track dawg!!! we are like 2 guys with similar perspective on it all, just live in different places :-)

In one session I took a rider along who clocked me at 2:07 with just one car slowing us down at oak tree. Other than that I really didn't have more than about a 1/2 lap of open track until the last session but the temps came down quite a bit and the track was not that sticky. More excuses hehe, I also put in too much race gas so the car was missing a little and not pulling nearly as well as it had been. I was reaching 165 (indicated) earlier on the back straight carrying a passenger but during the last session I could only manage 160 even with the colder temps.
Ok, here are official camera times of the last session where we all got clean laps ... there may have been faster laps in other sessions but this is the only one we checked times from.

Fritz
a bunch of 2:10s with a solid 2:09 fast lap!!

Damian
a bunch of 2:11s with a solid 2:10 fast lap!!

Hey, I didnt do so bad for my first time at VIR (I even had the 2 yellow 'rookie' tape strips on my car too..hehehe). My fast lap time is 100% from Fritz's instruction, no doubt.

Damian,
I feel you my brotha. The whole weekend felt like

I told you, YOU CAN DO IT!! However behind that shield of humility is a fire breathing dragon and the last thing you need is me boosting your confidence

I know why you didn't give me the boost controller cause you were hoping to catch a pass signal that last session LOL.

2:10 your first time at VIR is awesome in any car barring a radical that is. Oh and my instruction was like telling Micheal Jordan to shoot a jumper from the corner.

For the record the track was not that sticky (temps were about 50 or so) the last session and turn one was just terrible because of all the gravel. I'll guarantee you the next time you come if conditions and the car/tires are good you'll see some 2:05s with a little more boost . Also you can bet if I'm there I'll have some SLICKS to keep up with you hehe. We should try to hook up next year again somewhere so keep me posted if you're coming to any tracks within about 8 hours of me.

For an idea of how fast the track can be with good conditions check the video with me and Fred. I'm running some easy 2:08s with less power and tires. Video is titled: WATCH THIS.

Get that vid going I can't wait to see some tape with you following and Andy's stuff on the outer fringes.

For you guys that missed seeing Damians car in person it's truly the most bad *** FD I've seen with my own eyes. If you combined some elements from Damians car and Paul Winter's car you'd have a 2 minute FD on the VIR full course.

VIDEO BABY video,
Fritz
PS I think the backing track by Filter titled "hey man nice shot" would be a nice diving video song.

>>I feel you my brotha. The whole weekend felt like

hehe, yeah it was,... the track, the peeps, the weather, ...man, it dosnt not get any better than it was!!!

>>I told you, YOU CAN DO IT!! However behind that shield of humility is a fire breathing dragon and the last thing you need is me boosting your confidence

hey, i like fire breathing dragon :-)

>>I know why you didn't give me the boost controller cause you were hoping to catch a pass signal that last session LOL.

hahaha LOL ;-) dood, your gonna be silly with a few more lbs of boost and sticky tires.... straight silly.

by the way, here is where I got my contorller:
http://www.hallmanboostcontroller.com/

and here is my thread on my stock turbo setup:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...+boost+control

>>2:10 your first time at VIR is awesome in any car barring a radical that is.

thanks, i was kinda proud of myself :-) I really get nervous on new tracks

>>Oh and my instruction was like telling Micheal Jordan to shoot a jumper from the corner.

yo, that really means a lot to me coming from you, seriously.

>>For the record the track was not that sticky (temps were about 50 or so) the last session and turn one was just terrible because of all the gravel. I'll guarantee you the next time you come if conditions and the car/tires are good you'll see some 2:05s with a little more boost .

ohh man, i dunno about 2:05s for me, im sure you can no prob, but I was going pretty hard for my 2:10, and although after watching soem tape i see like 5 spots i ned to fix, I think I can get a 2:07 in there maybe. If I turn up the boost then maybe a 2:05 (heheheh)....Fritz, we are such wimps with the boost.. LOL

>>Also you can bet if I'm there I'll have some SLICKS to keep up with you hehe.

stay on ur beat up hoosiers so that i can hang around for a turn or 2 before you take off on me LOL

>>We should try to hook up next year again somewhere so keep me posted if you're coming to any tracks within about 8 hours of me.

i will let ya know once i get my calendar figured out. My main goal for getting to VIR was for the one lap, I may run it next year and VIR is in its track list ;-)

...but dood, I will go out of my way to hit an event with you again, it was that much fun man!!!

>>For you guys that missed seeing Damians car in person it's truly the most bad *** FD I've seen with my own eyes.

thanks bro :-)

>> If you combined some elements from Damians car and Paul Winter's car you'd have a 2 minute FD on the VIR full course.

hahah, ur crazy, 2 minutes!!! for me, once I get fast at a track its takes a LOT of effort to go a LITTLE faster. Guess I just need to get a 3 rotor in there soon LOL hahahah (I wish!!!)

>>PS I think the backing track by Filter titled "hey man nice shot" would be a nice diving video song.[/QUOTE]

I'm gonna go check the song out now....

When you weigh 2800 lbs with the jockey and you're cracking the whip on 350 ponies you do feel like a Giant out there sometimes Until that GT3 cup car blows your doors LOL.

Thanks for the kind words and I really wish you could of made it down.

Yes! Nice work there Fritz, the ride almost looks peaceful in that video... It was much more interesting from in the passenger seat.

You need to rig up some sort of wide angle lens so you can get some sense of how rediculously fast you're going.

Thanks again for a great ride.

Andy,
I'm glad you enjoyed it. You and Damian need to give me some video pointers for sure. I'm currently using one of those portable digi cams. I noticed that Damians cam was pretty high tech with a remote and rather interesting pedestal as well.

I just uploaded another calm peaceful vid from the other session I recorded titled: Audi VIR F 11-05 smiling passenger

I can't remember who was in the car but he was having lots of fun

We go by a Honda spinning in 3 and I catch the Pro driver in the M3 race car with the seriously prepped engine.

Grand east is the outside course plus the infield, 4.2 miles. The Mazda club runs it in June.
