First of all. HI!
Hi, here are the pics of my rx7, 90,000km. it's a 93 and it's clean like a virgin
http://aznraver.monchar.com
Btw I would like to trade my racingbeat spoiler for a 99 specs one!pm me!
I am from montreal and over here, there's no more than 5 rx7 in a population of over 1 mil. Up to now I've learned a lot from you guys and from many other sites.
I Hope to learn more and be helpful to this site
Sorry for my english. I speak french hehe.
As for now I just have a question.
Judging from my dash view does everything look normal?
MY temp always go to 3/4 ...it never stays 1/2 and never goes behond.
Some rx7 experts over here says it's normal. I have a aftermarket radiator.

1) FDs often run rich. Whether the reading is accurate depends on if the O2 sensor is wideband. Hooking a standard afr gauge to the stock o2 sensor will be inaccurate at the lean and rich side of its range.
2) Your car has some cosmetic modifications done - I would not be surprised if you stock temperature gauge has been linearized.
I assume those pics are from earlier this year.

nice pics! IMO you will have a tough time trading straight up your rb spoiler for a 99spec one :\
Looks like your running rich but I wouldnt worry about it a lot of rx7s do. Better rich than lean right?

Definitely a typo...at least I think. Nice car btw. Gotta love red FD's. I have a couple of questions for you (or anyone who knows).
1) What is that front spoiler you have there??? That's not an R1 lip, but I like it.
2) What brand are those gauges??? I like them A LOT... looks hot.
thanks.

Doesn't the oil pressure seem a bit low? Maybe just the picture, but I thought it should read 2-3 at idle. It looks like it's barely at one. Might just have to clean the contacts at the sending unit.

It is rare that the stock water temp gauge would go to 2/3. Unless it has been linearized, but you don't know that. Plus from what I understand, the needle on the gauge would move often if it were linearized. Search on "linearize" or go to the scuderia site (link is in the newbie FAQs) to learn more about how that is done and how you can check for it.
I think you should replace the coolant and then bleed the coolant system as soon as you can and find a way of determining exactly what kind of water temps you are running by getting a water temp gauge. If you have been doing your research, you will understand that running hot and overheating is not good and leads to a new engine and lotsa $$ spent.
Lots of so called RX7 experts confuse the fact that the RX7 runs hot (in terms of exhaust temps) with running hot water temps. I think that as you own your car you'll find that there really aren't very many RX7 experts....
Second, the narrow band a/f ratio meter you have is just about worthless b/c it can be quite inaccurate. I'd get a water temp gauge way before an a/f gauge.
Lastly, if you haven't already done so, don't forget to do some maintenance - change oil, change plugs, change fuel filter, change tranny/diff oil etc.
I used to go to Montreal every year to watch the F1 races. Nice city

No idea about the front spoiler, but I really like it - very subtle

You will know if the temp gage is linearized because there will be a resistor (or potentiometer) between the sender and the gage, probably in the engine bay somewhere - just follow the wires.

The dood on ebay selling those gauges has em for $44 a piece or 2 for $80 so you might wanna check that price.
How much are you paying in gas per gallon?
I mean my car is pig rich and I can fill up for $27-$29 and do just about 225 miles which is damn near 360km.

When gas prices were pretty high out here in so. california, I would spend about $90-110 a week on gas. Now its not so bad with the lower gas prices but Im still over $50 bux a week.
aznraver: Most people here will tell you that the stock temp gauge sits at the half ways mark. My car is like that and pretty much everyother FD I've seen is like that. Get an aftermarket water temp gauge to be sure. Nice car btw.
