This is an even more critical upgrade if you're still running the tiny stock IC, which heat soaks to the moon.
A (safe) alternative it just drive the car easy after it's been parked (hot) or idled for a significant period of time, that's a good practice anyway. I never get into full boost unless I'm seeing < 45 C charge temps

Basically the stock sensor is a big chunk of metal insulated with thick plastic. Hardly ideal for making quick adjustments to temperatures. Not so good for a finely tuned engine relying on air temperatures to mix the correct amount of fuel.
The biggest dangers are on cold nights when the car was brought to operating temperature and then parked for a few minutes to a few hours, then you get in the car, start it with the sensor still reading 50c, then you get out on the highway, punch it, get a cold rush of air without the fuel to support it.
The stock rotary is tuned so rich that it probably doesn't make a huge difference what temperature the ECU sees. I do have several guys running the FRIAT on stock cars that said it made the car run better, but I doubt it makes it much more reliable.
If you're a tuner it makes mapping the car easier. More consistency between runs. It also makes tuning the air temp correction tables a piece of cake instead of impossible. You also don't need as much of a fuel safety net, though being conservative is always good in rotaries.
I personally could never go back to the stock sensor after running the fast reacting sensor.
Also I was having some trouble with the site and paypal express. I turned off the paypal express module and activated the normal paypal module. It's not as quick but it should at least work now. So if anyone was having trouble placing an order that should be working now.

So guess what I just received in the mail, my sensor ordered from Fighters Garage, that's cool I got it, now I got one for sale!, since I got another one coming to me from wannaspeed.com . I ordered it on the first, then I did a paypal dispute on the 9th, and it was sent out from the Pensacola post office on the 9th, never got any emails from them which would have been nice, but at least I got the part. So I recommend anyone who wants to buy one get it from wannaspeed.com , or buy mine haha.
The directions recommend to install it in the greddy elbow due to some heat soak under the uim even with this sensor, and I already had mine in the elbow so I just put this one in the elbow too. I don't think the air will heat up much if any as it flys through the UIM which isn't far from the elbow, and less heat soak in the elbow. Car is warming up now to go test it out.

it definately works alot faster. temps dropped back down quickly after letting it heat soak for a few mins in the driveway. now i can test out the effectiveness of my cold air duct that runs from the opening in the passenger side of the front bumper and wraps around up to the passenger side of the greddy intake air filters.
