Did you ask Mazda 'exactly' what the warranty covers? You'll find out it won't be all that helpful (when you look at the fine print). It will help with the smaller items, but not with the more costly items. Again, if that were the case, we would all have them.

Yea, it's a powertrain warrany and includes apex seal failure and gaskets I did'nt get the paper work for it but it was $1,300 for 12mo./12,000miles which to me seemed short but I guess if you get another one right when it expires it'll cost less then a new engine. Besides REMANs come with a warranty.

I would check to see what 'certified' mechanics are available to you. If there are no non-Mazda certified mechanics, then it would complicate things a bit.

So $1300/year; doesn't sound like that great of a deal, but not bad either.

I agree you should look into buying an FD when you are more financially stable. In the meantime, read as much of the archives and FAQs as you can.

get a honda bro, a fd seems like too much of a hassle right now for you....and if you want to be fast, just wait until you have enough money.

the best way to buy a rx7 is to buy one that someone already blew up for cheap then buy a new motor and know what went into it a "rebuild" to a rotary doesnt mean much if they just replace what broke and not everything when they were in there. just my opinion on it

That's what I was thinking, and by "certified" it dosent have to be Mazda certified but the sales rep. said something, (I think it was some 3 letter acronyme) but I specifically asked if I could take it to Gotham Racing and they said that would be fine. And i'll be going with a Supra and I might get an FD for a project car in the future so I won't be dependant on it.

GO TOYOTA!!! and respect to all you Mazda guys.

And considering that it took me 3 months to put 1,000 miles on my car, I dont really have to worry about the mileage restriction.
