My buddy (funcrusher on this forum) has a 87 944 turbo with some Goodies
he beat a 95 M3 by 4-5 cars from 60-120
......
I think an FD with ur mods would do about the same (give or take) to a stock M3...Intake and exhaust to an M3 would maybe shave a few tenth's and give it about 2-4 mph faster in the traps..Still easy pray

My sisters husband has a 2001 M3. I waxed him last week. In fact the only speeds he even came close was 0-30, but my 7 is pretty highly modified. At about 120 I was about 10-12 car lengths ahead of him. The point is it can be done but the M3 is fast for a car with 4 seats.

I got to play with one of the new ones this weekend,
As stated in the previous post, he had good power down low, but I
just walked away from him above 60 mph. You've got to love the
forced induction on the freeway!
I've run with an M5 before, and it seemed like the M5 was quicker
on the freeway. I think the M5's extra weight does not make as much
of a difference at freeway speeds (approx 400 BHP?).
I'll tell you what though....that M3 has got to be one of the most
beautiful cars on the road right now. I saw three of them out this
weekend, all different colors - silver, white, and some type of odd
green/aqua color, and they were all stunning cars. I can't help but
turn my head when one goes by.

LMAO!
I dont think ur age has anythng to do w/ it, sounds like ur just not a car buff.
M3= BMW's hot rodded version of their 3 series. Its basically a 4 seater sports car. Very sweet ride indeed!

Actually, I was thinking of BMW's Z3 and wondered if the M3 might be a BMW as well. Thanks for you generous response. The age only has to do with the fact that after job, wife, child and everything else, there's just not as much time to enjoy cars as much as in the past.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Stock Rx7 beats E36 M3 (0-60mph 5.9sec) 1995-99 easily. E46 M3 2001-->(0-60 4.64) easily beats FD. I just got an 2002 E46 M3. My moded Rx7 is much faster. I love the M3 it combines the best of both worlds.

The FD would easily wax the porkster M3.
How 'bout an FD vs. the new BMW M coupe, now there's a race I'd die to see. Same motor as M3 (slightly detuned) but much lighter body and better power/weight ratio. Performance #'s like 315hp/250lb-ft and the exhaust note of the in-line six are a car lovers dream. Some will say the M coupe is *** ugly but its got one of those love it or hate it looks, I for one, love it.
