Yup. One thing I don't think has been mentioned in this thread is inflation.... 40k today is probably more like 30k 20 years ago.

Nice find. Tried to read the rest from the link, but get an error on the page.

As far as stock for my Base model I have many of the stock parts and window sticker for my car. Plus I am the 3rd owner.

I would need to pick up as set of stock turbos, remove one factory oil cooler, and stock springs.

I cannot wait til my car is done and I have it appraised for insurance reasons.

Actual inflation is zero FD cost about 35k and a new 370z cost 35k. If anything you get more bang for your buck today then you did 20 years ago in the auto industry.

I have been told by someone in the industry that cars really haven't gotten any more expensive since the 80's despite inflation.
