49. My RX-7 history:

First new car I ever bought was an '81 RX-7. Loved that car!
Bought a new Turbo II in the summer of '87. Thought I'd died and gone to heaven!
Bought my VR 3rd gen new in July of '93. I'm about 600 miles short of 100K. Nothing else like it, and I've owned and driven a bunch of other cars over all these years. To me, one of the best looking cars produced in the last 30 years, and easily the best from Japan. Still get a thrill driving it, and just looking at it. The design is absolutely timeless.

Thanks dude, i fit them myself, even made the brackets myself (all i got in the kit were the spots and the covers, had to make everything else myself!)

Actually, i rebuilt my engine and interior myself too.

Not bad for a 20 something eh.

First rotary when I was 20. 8 RX-7s and 1 RX-8 over the years and I've never popped an engine.

Right now I'm holding onto an 84 GSL-SE, 94 (348 rwhp, 302tq), and 04 RX-8 (winter car!!).

Don't care about whipping anyone's ass or teaching anyone a lesson (that's what your parents failed to do), I just like the cars.

Northwest RX-7 05-06-06 07:55 PM

Purchased our 1995 model new 10 years ago (this month) when I was 40 . . .

31 and i am on my third. I bought my first one in 1997 for 8500$ with 64k on it. It belonged to a kid who got caught racing and his parents made him sell it for what he owed. I love you rich kids. Too bad i couldn't have that luck buying my house.

**and i will not be selling this one, ever.**

DaveW 12-31-07 11:16 AM

Old dude - I'm 65. Got a 1st-gen in 1979, sold it in 1993 (didn't have time for 2 RX-7's - barely had time to drive one), a year after I bought my FD new in March 1992. The FD's like having a racecar for the street. I have a real racecar for the track.

:) Old guy - 60. Been in car business 30+ yrs but didn't get 1st RX7 until about 2yrs ago. It is a 93 R1 -- non title car which I am making into a Driver's Ed car. GT35R single turbo conversion, etc. Had wanted a FD since they first came out. also had a RX4 back in the late 70's

20sailor 12-31-07 08:12 PM

53, and can't imagine not having this car. You know, it's a blast even at 30mph. Magic. My favorite car (owned) till the 7 has been a 1956 Porsche 356A coupe that I drove all over the US in the 70's. It had 75 crankshaft hp and handled wonderfully. I sold it in '83 when the rust overcame my wallet. The truly amazing thing about the fd is that the forward view is exactly the same as the 356. I'm hooked.....

22 and honestly I dont care if anyone paid for their own sh*t or not. If you have one, then you have one. I paid for mine and everything I've done to it but guess what? no one cares. So all those younger guys that are like 19 that go I paid for all of my stuff and blah blah blah, no one gives a flying f*ck.
